　今年は、ポールの来日、ジョージの新作、ジョンの『マインド･ゲームス』のリマスターとビートルズファンだけでなく、ロックファンにとってはたまらない１年でした。でも、他の３人が、こうして、やたら話題になっているのに、あいかわらず、この人は地味。　このアルバムもオール･スターモノでは、一番の出来と思うのですが、日本盤発売はナシでしょうか。あまり､と言うか、全然話題になっていないようだし...。

　メンバーはイアン･ハンター、グレッグ・レイク（「ラッキー・マン」を歌ってます！）、シーラ・Ｅ、その他、そうそうたるメンツ。リンゴもノリにノッて歌ってます。元気です。こっちも元気になります。買って損はないアルバムです。このメンバーで、このノリで来日すれば間違いなく何を置いてでも観に行くでしょう。でも、でも、このアルバム、というかリンゴは話題になっていない...。

　思うに、このバンドのメンツが今となっては地味すぎるのでは？また、リンゴも相変わらずのナンバーに過ぎるのでは？『リンゴ』が名盤､自信作なのは分かるけど、最近でも『タイム・アフター・タイム』、『ヴァーティカル･マン』、『アイ・ウォナ・ビー・サンタ・クロウス』なんて、いいアルバム出してるのに...。他にも『センチメンタル・ジャーニー』、『カントリー･アルバム』、『グッドナイト・ウィーン』、『ロートグラヴィア』、『４ｔｈ』、『バッド・ボーイ』、『バラの香りを』、『オールド・ウェイヴ』なんてあるでしょう。みんな、みんな言わば隠れた名盤じゃないですか。そのあたりからも演奏してくれれば。

　ジェフ･リン、クラプトンあたりをバック･メンバーにしてね。この人はそれくらいできる、華のある人なんだから。
　
がんばって欲しい、大切なアーティストです。

オールスターバンドの楽しみの一つは、メンバー構成です。今回の”Ｎｅｗ”と冠のついたバンドも凄いですね。
ＧＲＥＧ　ＬＡＫＥ！ＩＡＮ　ＨＵＮＴＥＲ！ＳＨＥＩＬＡ　Ｅ！ＨＯＷＡＲＤ　ＪＯＮＥＳ！ＲＯＧＥＲ　ＨＯＤＧＳＯＮ！

録画されたのは２００１年８月になっています。リンゴには、このオールスターバンドをいつまでも続けてほしいですね。いつかは、ポールにも加わってもらえたら・・・。リンゴの歌う曲がなくなってしまうかも、なんて考えながら
リラックスしながら楽しめる作品です。
ビートルズファンにお方にはお薦めします。ビデオも出てますのでそちらも要チェック！

Ringoのこのオールスター（Starr）バンドはよくCDが出るが、なぜか一枚もので出る。
はっきり言ってRingoはあんまり自分のレパートリー変えないので、毎回
買っている人間としては一緒に演奏している面子の歌が楽しみになってこざるを得ない。
ところが、このCDもRingoの歌中心（当たり前！）でバックバンドの奴らの歌
は１~２曲ってのは寂しい。

ビシっと２枚組完全収録で出してくれんかなあ。
ちなみに今までのバンド、総てがRingoの人脈ではない。
彼が突然見も知らないアーチストで電話して誘うそうだ。
どう見たってこれ以前にRingoとGreg Lakeに接点が合ったと思えないでしょ。
それにしてもRingoとGreg Lakeのリズムセクションって普通の人では
思いつかない組み合わせだなあ。
