結婚、出産といった生活環境の変化、あるいは現在生活の拠点を置くNYで9月11日の事件を目のあたりにしたのが関係しているのかもしれないが、彼女は明らかに変わった。夫であり、ミンガス・ビッグバンドのアレックス・シピアーギンの共同プロデュースのもとに完成した本作は、音や歌い方から以前のようなクラブ・ジャズ・ディーヴァ的な力みが消えているのだ。クラブ・テイストの曲もあるが、安定した演奏が今のナチュラルさを引き出しているぶん、全体的には落ち着いた本格派ジャズ・ヴォーカル作となっている。 (小暮秀夫) --- 2002年08月号

この作品はかなりいいですよ。アシッドジャズとかジャズ好きにはかなりお勧めです。出産を終えてのこのアルバムは、今までのアルバムよりクラブミュージックをはなれていて、夫であるアレックス・シピアギンを筆頭とした演奏人のレベルが半端じゃありません。この前のリキッドルームでのライブも最高でした。ぜひ聴いてみて下さい。

ピアノだけをバックにした#1でこの人の声のパワーに
驚かされた。年を重ねて低音部がしっかりしてきただけでなく、
呼吸が安定したというか、とにかく声がよく熟成している。

楽曲にもポップスには見られない工夫が施されていて、聞いていて
飽きない。周りに優秀なミュージシャンがたくさんいてよい刺激を
いっぱい受けているのでしょう。演奏もトップレベルの人達による
メリハリある音が楽しめる。中でもDave Kikoskiのピアノ、旦那の
Alex Sipiaginによるホーン＆ストリング・アレンジ、そして
Monday自身によるコーラス・パートは秀逸。

歌詞も９１１直後のヒステリアに対する警鐘を歌っていたりと、
日米を両方から見てきたこの人ならではの視点が興味深い。

ジャズ寄りだとかクラブ･ミュージック離れがどうとか言う前に、
こういう上質の音楽には相応の敬意を払いたいと思う。

5.0 out of 5 stars 私の好きなマンデイさん　ここにあり, 2004/11/17
「OPTIMISTA」以降、BOSANOBAの傾倒している曲が非常に多く、
クラブJAZZっぽい音楽を好んでいた私としては、このアルバムは、
久しぶりにマンデイさん復活！！と歓喜の作品でした。
マンデイさんの曲の中でも「DELICIOUS POISN」が好きだった私と
しては、このアルバムは、My FAVORITEに間違いなく入る一作です。

また、いつかクラブイベントでお会いできたらいいなぁ
