2001年に鮮烈なデビューを飾ったフライド・プライドの2作目は、前作よりさらに磨きのかかった多彩な音楽性で聴くものを煙に巻いてくれる。ギターとヴォーカルというシンプルな組み合わせにパーカッションを加えて、それだけで変幻自在なパフォーマンスを聴かせてしまうことに驚かされる。それは、ひとえにヴォーカルのSHIHOとギターの横田がどちらも優れた音楽性を持ち合わせているからだ。しかもこのふたり、1作目以上に自信がついたのだろう。その自信がパフォーマンスに余裕をもたせることに繋がった。そしてこの余裕がさらなるチャレンジ精神を育んだに違いない。ポップスからジャズのスタンダードまで、お馴染みの曲をフライド・プライド流にアレンジして見事な内容に仕上げてしまう。このオリジナリティはなかなかのものだ。しかも、それがひとりよがりに終わっていない。きちんと個性を追求しながら、多くのひとに受け入れられる要素を持ち合わせているところが魅力だ。 (小川隆夫) --- 2002年08月号

　初めて聞いたのはラジオからだった。聞いたときは、絶対外人だと思った。なんだか『tack and patty』を思い出した。けど、よく知ってくうちに全く違うし、しかも日本人のユニット。基本的にはSHIHOのボーカルと横田氏のギター、パーカッションのMEGU。とにかく聞いてください。ちょっと、他にはないサウンド。きっと聞きなれないと思う。けど、SHIHOの歌声には、鳥肌がたつ。アルバムの中には、聞いたことのある曲のカバーばかり。マービン・ゲイの『What's going on』には、きっと何かを感じると思う。まずは聞いてください。そして、次にはぜひライブで生歌を聞いて欲しい。それだけです。

アドリブこそそう多くはないが、もしジャズが、「ある曲をこれまで聴いたことのないやり方で演奏するもの」であるならば、一流の作品といっていいと思う。

ジャズ・ポピュラーのスタンダード、ビートルズ、スティービー・ワンダーなどの曲が選ばれているが、どの演奏にもなにがしかのインパクトを受けるはず。特にリズムとメロディーをジャズ風に崩したムーン・リバーは背筋がふるえるほどの出来。
繰り返し聴けば聴くほど、ボーカルの細部にまで細心の注意が払われていることがわかる。一度ぜひ試聴を。

歌は上手くてとてもかっこいい！でもギターの音だけに集中して聞くといつもとは違う聞き方が出来ます。ほんとにかっこいいです。
