ブルースの哀愁を帯びたメロディをトランペットが美しく奏でる、いつの時代も人の琴線に触れさす永遠のベルケン・サウンド。その魅惑の世界を存分に味わえるべストＣＤです。私はベルト・ケンプフェルト楽団を直接知らない世代ですが、イージーリスニングの歴史に欠くことのできないオーケストラとして親しんでいます。トランペット・ムードはもちろんのこと、スインギーで明るいメロディの曲もよろしい。またケンプフェルトはフランク・シナトラの｢夜のストレンジャー｣やハーブ・アルパートの｢マルタ島の砂｣の作曲者として有名ですが、その２曲が本ＣＤには収録されていません。おそらくそれはブルースを基調としたケンプフェルト楽団のオリジナリティを尊重した選曲のシブさだと思います。そういった理屈も忘れて聴く事のできる充実したアルバムです。

いわゆる“ステレオ”どころか、まだ“ＬＰレコード”というものが高嶺の花だった1960年代に一世を風靡したベルト・ケンプフェルト楽団のヒット曲を網羅した復刻ベスト盤。チャーリー・タボール、ビリー・モーらの名手によるトランペット・ソロをフィーチャーした“○○のブルース”シリーズ（日本での題名）の哀調を帯びたメロディーの数々は、この時代に青少年時代を過ごした人には、まさに胸キュンの想い出深いアイテムだろう。
冒頭の1曲目“星空のブルース（Wonderland By Night）”のイントロが流れ始める途端に、往年の音楽番組『Ｐ盤アワー』を思い出し懐かしさがいっぱいになることと思う。
以後、“真夜中のブルース”、“夢のブルース”、“欲望のブルース”・・・と続き、その安直な邦題の付け方（同じような例として“○○のワルツ”というのもあった〉には、現代の感覚では思わず笑ってしまうところだが、かつて、日本の“洋楽”シーンにはこういう時代もあったということを念頭に置いて、新しいリスナーの方にも聴いていただければ、現代では失われてしまったよき時代のイージーリスニングの魅力を再発見していただけるだろう。
とにかく、ベルト・ケンプフェルトの名曲の数々がＣＤで聴けるというだけで感謝モノだが、これだけの曲を網羅してこの価格とは、超お買い得の1枚と言っていい。

ベルト・ケンプフェルトといえば真夜中のブルース。朝な夕なにのテーマ曲でした。
私は、この曲を聴くとあの映画の葬式のシーンを思い出します。

哀愁を帯びたメロディー、どこかで１度は、聞いたことがあるメロディーが　沢山
入っています。
