　これは今現在聴けるバナナラマのベスト盤としては音質・選曲的にも
ベストな物です！

　シーンに影響を与えたりフォロワーを生んだグループでは無いかも知れませんが
彼女達がここに残した楽曲は理屈抜きで楽しめる物だと思いますよ！

5.0 out of 5 stars ８０年代華やかに活躍したガールズグループのベスト, 2003/10/5
バナナラマがアイドルから脱皮したきっかけは日本でも大ヒットした「ヴィーナス＜86年全米No.1／3rdアルバム（86年）収録＞」からである。この曲からアーティスティック性を感じさせるようになった原因のひとつとして、85年デッド・オア・アライヴの全英No.1ヒット「You Spin Me Round」のプロデューサーして一躍注目を浴びたプロデューサー・チーム「ストック/エイトキン/ウォーターマン（ＳＡＷ）」の起用があげられる。テクノロジーを極めながら抜群のセンスを感じさせるプロデュースぶりには脱帽させられる。
その後、バナナラマとＳＡＷとのコラボレーションは続き、87年夏全米４位をマークした「I Heard A Rumor（87年／4thアルバム収録）」は、マイケル・フォーチナティの「ギヴ・ミー・アップ」のアイデアを拝借したということで話題になったが、そのクオリティは本家を上回る傑作と感じたのは僕だけではないはずだ。
そのバナナラマとＳＡＷとのコラボレーションの転機となったのは5thアルバム（91年）の「POP LIFE」。全面ＳＡＷプロデュースアルバムになるはずが、結局２曲のプロデュースにとどまった。しかしながら実際１０曲程度は完成しており、その中の「I Don't Care」はシングル候補の珠玉の名曲で、お蔵入りしてしまったのが非常もったいなく、将来　未発表トラックとして収録が望まれる傑作。
そのＳＡＷを押しのけ、メインプロデューサーの座についたのは新鋭ユース。ＳＡＷのかげりが見え始め、時代の変化に対応したバナナラマが新たなアプローチを展開している。
　ＳＡＷとの関係が切れたかに思われたが6thアルバム（93年）「Please Youself」では、再びストック＆ウォーターマンとリユニオンした（エイトキンは90年頃脱退）。このアルバムでは、当時ＡＢＢＡのリバイバルブームにのった作風も見られる。このアルバムに収録されているアンドレア・トゥルー・コネクションのカバー「More,More,More」は、シングルヴァージョンの方がよりカラフルなアレンジで楽しめる。
　このベスト盤は、数あるバナナラマのベスト盤の中で、ベストのベスト盤といってよいと思います。
