　自分はスーファミを持っていなかったので友達の家に入り浸ってこのゲームをやりまくっていた。結局碌にクリアは出来無かったが、おどろおどろしい演出、美麗なグラフィックとピッタリのＢＧＭ、独特の操作性・・・と何から何まで印象に残るゲームだった。　鍾乳洞ステージなどは一見の価値アリである。

　ファイナルファンタジーシリーズにしてもそうだが、スーファミ時代にリリースされたゲームというのは、作り手のイマジネーションとハードの性能、両者の限界をうまく引き出し臨界にまで達した良作が少なくない。

　今日ゲーム機の性能だけが暴走気味に進化し、グラフィックこそ３Ｄだなんだと進歩しているが、ゲームそのものの面白さや満足感という点ではこの時代のほうが上かもしれない。

それまでMSXユーザーだった私にとっては、ドラキュラ2回目の攻略。『呪いの封印』や『悪魔城伝説』の噂をうらやましく聞いて過ごしたもの。 当時の次世代機“SF”を購入し、真っ先にプレイしてみた。そして間違いなく、私が望むドラキュラの全てがそこにあった。悪魔城へと続く長い道のり、全編に漂うダークな雰囲気、悪夢の具現化のごときモンスター…。 難易度については、なんとも言いようはない。もともと高い難易度のアクションがウリの部分があり、各作品の印象によるところもあるだろうから。本作は8方向への攻撃や、鞭の振り回しにより、敵との戦闘には多少のアドバンテージがとれる。しかしながら、回転する床や多彩な動きの針天井、崩れる連続階段等々、ステージ上の障害は確実に動きを阻んでくる。 なんと言っても、ゲーム全体を通した恐怖と焦躁の演出が、これほど優れていた作品はシリーズにおいても他には知らない。襲ってくる馬の生首、地面から生えてくる手、揺れ動くシャンデリア越え、天井から滴る血、悪意をもってうねる絨毯…。 ぜひ復活版を出して欲しい名作であると思う。

子供の頃、駄菓子屋で1コイン30円で遊んでいたのを彷彿とさせてくれます。移植度に若干の違いがありますが、この価格なら文句なし。ドラキュラの世界観にハマって下さい。
