   あるバンドについて知りたければ、付き合っている仲間を見れば大抵のことは分かる。シンプル・プランと親交のあるミュージシャンといえば、グッド・シャーロットにブリンク・182。これでこのグループのデビュー作がどんなサウンドか、おおむね予想はつくだろう。もっとも、曲名が「I’m Just a Kid」、「The Worst Day Ever」、「God Must Hate Me」とくれば、このカナダのポップ・パンク集団が、人口統計的に見て数が安定している若年層をターゲットにしているのは明らかだ。ジャケットを飾っている半裸の女の子たちについては、とりあえず気にしなくてよい――ブリンク・182のようないやらしいダブル・ミーニングは、ここにはまったく出てこない。フロントマンのピエール・ブーヴィエによる歌詞の内容は、学校をさぼったり、パパの車をぶつけたり、まったく面識のない女の子たちに熱を上げたり、というもの。「毎日が史上最悪の日なんだ（Every day is the worst day ever）」とブーヴィエは涙ながらに歌っている。ただし、音楽自体に陰気なところはまったくない。「I’d Do Anything」は、グリーン・デイばりに勢いのあるゴキゲンな曲。一方、「When I’m With You」は妄執と傷心の物語だが、ランシドよりはゴー・ゴーズに近いスタイルだ。年季の入ったパンク・ファンにとってはあまりに青少年向けなので毛嫌いされるだろうが、新世代のファンには楽しめるはず。（Louis Pattison, Amazon.com）

イイ！！
全曲ノリの良い曲調で最後まで楽しんで聴ける。
ドライブ（特に海沿い）のBGMにもってこいである。
衝動買いしても（笑）後悔しない逸品。

このCDを買ったきっかけは弟が聴いてたオムニバスアルバムに“I'd do anything”が入ってていいなあと思ったから。
私はふだん洋楽は女性アーティストばっかりしか聴かないからほかと比べてこのCDがイイのかはわかりません。
でもCHARCOAL FILTERとか好きな私にはポップだったりはっちゃけた感じがとっても聴きやすかったです。

私みたいにこだわりのない人、楽しいものは楽しい♪、とりあえず元気になれそうな曲が聴きたい人にイイと思います！

ロックとまでは行かないまでも、結構ノリノリな曲の多い
彼等です。
ギターのサウンドが心地いいです。
そんなにロックが好きではない方も、普通に
バックミュージックとして聴くだけでも十分に楽しめる１枚でしょう。

が、彼等の魅力はそれ以上に『歌詞と曲調のギャップ』
にあります。
とんでもなくネガティブな歌詞を思いっきり明るく歌う。
英語の分からない方は、もう是非日本語訳を見ていただきたいです。
『神様は俺達に呪いをかけたんだ！』やら
『僕達は悪夢を見ているんだ！』やら、普通だったら
決して明るくはしゃいで歌う内容ではない歌詞を、
思いっきり、むしろ前向きに歌いきってくれます。
このギャップが素敵ですよ。

まず最初は音楽として楽しんで、次は歌詞と曲調の
ギャップを楽しんでいただきたい１枚です＾＾
