普通のポップソングに聞き飽きたらコレ。
いわば音響系ポップとも言えそうな複雑なミックス、凝ったアレンジ、手垢にまみれた言葉を使わないその言語感覚、どれもとっても日本のポップミュージックの先端だ。
音響といっても彼らの根底にはポップの精神が流れているわけで、こんな分かりやすい聞かせ方もあるんだ~、と関心すること間違いなしの一枚。

シングルコレクションということで、初めての人にもお勧め。

これは絶対おすすめです。ピュアなドリーマーと、ニヒルなリアリストな感じを併せ持っています。私が一番最初に聴いたアルバムは“METAL　LUNCHBOX”なのですが、GREAT3をまだ知らない人は、こちらが先のほうがいいかもしれませんね。小説の小見出しだけを読んだって感じです。そのうちそれだけじゃ物足りなくて、全てのアルバムがほしくなります･･･きっと。

ベスト盤の選曲としてはなかなか良いと思います。1番の”目玉”は、シングルのみでリリースされ、その後なぜかどのアルバムにも収録されなかった名曲「Grass Roots」が収録されていることでしょう。最高にポップなメロディ、気持ち良いギター・サウンド（長田進氏によるもの）は絶品です。間違いなく一聴の価値アリ、の名曲だと断言します。個人的には彼らの楽曲の中でもNo.1のお気に入りです。また、全くの未発表曲である「Cruel World To Heaven」も、”目玉”の1つですね。過去のシングル曲「Oh! Baby」「Little Jの嘆き」のリ・テイクも収録されていますが、こちらは個人的にはオリジナルのほうが好みです。そのオリジナルも今作には収録されているので、聴き比べてみるのも面白いと思います。このベスト盤が気に入った方は、1st、2ndアルバムも聴いてみることもオススメします。ジャパニーズ・ロック、ポップスの名盤です。
