押尾さんのギターサウンドは、一本のギターの音とは思えない、というのが聞く人すべての共通する感想だと思います。
「Breeze」や「Blue Sky」はとても押尾さんっぽいサウンド。軽いけど単純ではなく、仕事をしながら、ドライブをしながら聞くと、一緒に鼻歌したくなる、なんだかいやなこと忘れさせるハッピーサウンド！
一方で、内面に蓄積したネガティブなパワーを吐き出すかのような「Hard Rain」の激しさもあり。このように緩急自在のプレイが特筆ものは言うまでももないのですが、私はあえて、クラシックとも言える作品、「ハリーライムのテーマ、第三の男」をオススメします。チターでおなじみの曲ですが、ギターで軽やかに楽しく奏でていて、押尾さんの笑顔が浮かんでくる名作だと思います。
私は、ギターは全くわかりませんが、TVでライブを拝見し、感動し、このCDを買いました。「CDをそろえて行きたい」と思える、日本が世界に向かって誇れる数少ないインストルメンタルアーティストだと思います。

完成度とても高いです。感動しました。
インディーズレーベルから、メジャーデビューの第一作です。
今までにないアコースティックギターの可能性を見いだしたアルバムです。
ギターは、６弦あって全体のチューニング（音を合わせる）が、通常はノーマルチューニングとか、一般的にあわせてありますけれども、「戦場のメリークリスマス」~MerryChristmasMr.Lawrenceでは弦をおのおの、ゆるめてオープンチューニング（何も押さえていない開放弦でコードが弾ける）で演奏しているようです。
これからの押尾さんの活躍が期待されます。

コータローのプレイで驚くのは、テクニックそのもの以上に、そのテクニックの使い方の的確さだ。たとえば、戦メリのカバー。ここでは、ヘッジス以降のテクニックが単なるテクニックのお披露目などではない、不可欠の楽曲構成要素として組み入れられている。ヘッジスの影響を受けたギタリストは世界にも数多い。けれど、自分のプレイの中にこれほど見事に消化／昇華して採り入れ得たプレイヤは本当に少ないのだ。しかもそれをカバー曲でやってのけるというのは、テクニックだけでできることではない。

彼のプレイには他にも20世紀のギタリストのプレイがふんだんに、しかもそれぞれの楽曲にとって不可欠の要素として活かされている。つまりは、テクニシャンというよりも音楽家としての、彼の力量／個性が確かに聴き取れるのだ。そこにこそソロギタリストとしては異例の人気の根本的な原因があるのだと思う。優れた音楽家のStarting Pointに立ち会いたい人なら、ギターファンならずとも必聴の一枚。
