　デッカ在籍時すなわち1965年8月のデビュー・シングルから約2年間の作品を一応全曲収録した便利盤。曲目は見ての通りですが；
　●Disc１：初めの8曲が1965-66年の4枚のシングル、9曲目からはアルバム「Small Faces」
　●Disc２；1-6曲目がシングル曲、7-15曲目がセカンド・アルバム「From The Begining」から。
　　16,17がS.マリオットの1963年のデビュー・ソロ・シングル、
　　18,19は初代キーボーディストのJ.ウィンストンがバンドをクビになった後に出した1966年6月のシングル。
です。アルバムの曲は全部入ってるけど、シングルと重なる曲はディスクのアタマに入っていて、アルバムと曲順がいじってあるので、オリジナル・アルバムに慣れたヒトには違和感があるかも。また、フレンチEPヴァージョンと言われるもの（オリジナル・アルバムのCDにボーナスで付いたもの）は入ってないのが「コンプリート」と言えず痛いところ。結局マニアに必要なのはディスク2の最後の4曲ですからねぇ。この4曲とフレンチEPヴァージョンだけでCDにしてくれたら、と思うんですけど・・・・まあ、その辺を考慮して必要なヒトは買えばいいんじゃないでしょうか？わたしゃマニアでないから、不要盤として処分しました。

　我らがスモール･フェイセスのアンソロジーの再発盤です。
　心の底には泥臭いＲ＆Ｂへの情熱的な愛、それをシャープなスーツで覆い、服装のままのシャープでストレートな音楽と共に生きていたイースト・エンド・モッズ・バンド、それがスモール・フェイセス。

　魅力的で洗練されたルックスと、ライヴでの攻撃的な演奏スタイル、誰でもすぐに覚えられるポップな曲作りで、65年のデビュー直後にジミー･ウィンストンが脱退し替わりにイアン・マクレガンが加入、『シャ・ラ・ラ・リー』『ヘイ・ガール』などのシングルをヒットさせた。さらにコンセプト・アルバム『オグデンズ・ナット・ゴーン・フレーク』という、鮮烈な名盤を生み出した。スモール・フェイセスはモッズの代名詞となり、モッズ･ムーブメントそのものとなっていった。
　スモール・フェイセスは今でも多くのアーティストから高い支持を受けていて、最近ではスターセイラーなどがカヴァーしたりしています。
