　1996年、KISSは初期メンバーとかつてKISSの顔自と言われたメイクを復活させ、その記念に自分達のベストアルバム「グレイテスト　KISS　リマスター・グレイテスト・ヒッツ」をリリースしました。

　このアルバムの収録曲は、20以外はKISSの初期メンバー時に発表した曲ばかりです。まずKISSの名曲中の名曲の1や15をはじめ、KISSの最大ヒットアルバムのタイトルナンバーでもある5や、今ではライヴのラストに飾ることが多いKISSの初のシングルヒットした17などが収録されており、また12はこのアルバムでしか聴けないライヴヴァージョンなのでKISSファンの方は一度聴いてみてはいかがだろうか？

　自分的に唯一の不満は初期のKISSの名曲の一つでもある[I　WANT　YOU」や「COLD　GIN」などが収録されていないことぐらいですが、初期のKISSの名曲中の名曲といえる曲はほとんど収録されているので大きなマイナスというほどではありません。ただ長年のKISSのファンの方には不満な点があると思いますが、初期のKISSの代表曲がたくさん聴けるのでKISSの入門者の方にはおすすめできます。自分的に言うとこのアルバムは今まで発表されたKISSのアルバム、もしくはベストアルバムの中では最高のアルバムだと思うのでKISSファンの方はもちろうんHR/HMファンの方にもおすすめ出来るベストアルバムだと思います。

96年の日本ツアーを前に全曲リマスターして発売されたＫＩＳＳのベストアルバムです。ベストアルバムの常でＫＩＳＳファン全員にとってのベストアルバムになっていないと思いますが、いわゆる名曲は収録されています。（個人的にはシャンディを入れて欲しかったですが）こうして聴き返して思うのは、彼らの楽曲の良さです。ド派手なメイクとライブに目が行き勝ちですが、キャッチーなメロディを持ったハードロック曲が揃っています。
同様の趣旨を持った物に高価なＢＯＸセットもありますが、サービス精神旺盛な彼らですので、このＣＤも、限度一杯の70数分に渡って20曲が収録されていますので、ＫＩＳＳを初めて聴いてみたいという人にはこちらから聴かれることをお奨めします。

キッスは、きてれつな（むしろとてもかっこいい）メイクやパフォーマンスで世間をあっと言わせましたが、やっている音楽は誠に正統派なんだなーと思います。
プレイテクニックもしっかりしていて、曲がとても聞こえてきます。また、アルバムセールスもとてもうまかったように思います。
ベスト盤全２０曲でキッスのエッセンスは抽出してあるので、当時の雰囲気を懐かしむ人やら、キッスってなんやろ？と思っている人。これ１枚で十分満足できるものと思っています。
是非買ってみてください。
