スティビーの良さっていうとR&BなんだけどJazzyで切ないメロディー、低音から高温までのびのあるやや鼻にかかった甘いボーカル、クラビノーバやローズ、キーボードベースの演奏法に新境地を開いたなどキリが無い。本ベストでは66年~96年までの楽曲より21曲をセレクトされている（もちろんデジタルリマスターされている）。歌詞を読めば彼の人柄のよさが良くわかる。入門者としてはこれでよいっていうか、次にどのアルバムを手に入れたらよいか迷わずに済む。

このCDには、過去に発売された物があり、カスタマーレビューが分散しているので、発売年違いの同じCDのレビューもご覧になられると参考になると思います。

現在僕が カスタマーレビューを書いている時点で、もう既に 他のカスタマーレビューが投稿されていますので、詳しい内容等はそちらをご覧頂き、補足分を書きます。

まずこのCDには、
・英語の歌詞
・歌詞の対訳
・英文ライナーの和訳
・解説
が、付いておりますので、彼に対する理解が深まります。まさに入門編と言える内容で、選曲も素晴らしいです。

(さすがに、活動歴が長いので、1枚で振り返るには足りないですが…)

そして、普段は Popsを主に聴いている方で、これから ブラック ミュージックを聴いてみようと思う方には、このベスト が最適です。
彼は 黒人のアーティストですが、多分最も ブルーズ臭さ が薄いアーティストですので、抵抗無く聴けると思います。

しかし、これはあくまでも 彼の長いキャリア を簡単に紹介した 入門編 としてのCDですので、気に入った曲があれば、ぜひその曲が入った オリジナル・アルバム を聴いて頂くと、作品としての感動 も、さらに深いです。

最後に、これは 彼に限らずですが、特に シンガーソングライターの作品は、出来るだけ国内盤を買い、
(国内盤でも歌詞対訳が無い物が、たまにありますが…)
歌詞に込められた メッセージを理解して聴く事を、お薦めします。
やはり 何の事について唄っているのか 解らないのは残念ですしね。

あと、楽器の演奏にも耳を傾けると、さらに楽しく、魅力的に聴けると思いますよ
