お馴染み佐山先生のピアノに天野さんのギターをバックにした、変則トリオでの一枚。瀬木の第二の故郷アンデス、そして今回はアフリカを旅しながら紡いでいったメロディの数々は、いつもながら本当に素朴で美しく、遠い異国の自然の空気感と共に、我々日本人にはどこか懐しさを感じずにはいられない。アルバム中盤、本作のテーマ曲でもあるバラード "Madera" あたりから、砂塵舞う "Desert" を経て、最後 "Esquina" に至る流れは、アルバムとしての物語を感じさせる。
一つ一つの楽曲も相変わらず行儀良く丁寧な作りだが、しかし、アルバムの中でそろそろもう少し遊びや冒険を加えてみてもいいんじゃないか？という気は少しする。

瀬木貴将が原点を見つめ直した感のあるシンプルな音作りがなされていて南米楽器を愛して止まない気持ちが伝わってくる様です。

インタヴューか何かで、その絶対性から「コンドルは飛んでいく」をあえて避けてきた彼ですが今作に初収録されています。恐らく色々な思い入れがあるのではないでしょうか。

私も何とか機をみてサンポーニャを始めたいと考えている今日この頃、同じ様な気持ちをもった人達に向けた入門用バイブルと成り得るアルバムだと思います。
