１６歳のゲイである主人公スティーブンが、
きっと多くの人がかつて味わったであろう青春時代の
甘くほろ苦かった初恋と純粋で真直ぐな心に突き刺さった
世の理不尽に対する憤懣やるかたない思いを爽やかな涙と
共に思い出させてくれました。そしてスティーブンを理解
してくれる女友達、母親もとても素敵に描かれています。

しかしゲイが主人公であるからか、邦題を「同級生」などと言う、
トンチンカンなものにしてしまったのが非常に残念…
いかにも「禁断の恋」をイメージさせてしまって、この映画の
テーマをぼやかしてしまっている様に思います。

「アナザー・カントリー」や「モーリス」の様な時代背景、
全寮制男子校のゲイ恋愛映画とは全く異質な現代の前向きな

青春映画で、同性愛者・異性愛者関係なく共感・感動出来る
秀作だと思います。

普通の男子高校生が同級生の男の子に恋をするという同性愛を描いている作品なのですが、誰もが共感できる作品です。異性愛でも同性愛でも、「愛する」という気持ちは同じ。自分の気持ちに嘘をつくのはいやだ！と一歩踏み出す主人公に、涙するし、応援せずにはいられません。

　さらっと観ただけでは「さわやかなスクールボーイ白書」なんていう，キャッチコピーそのままの印象で終わるかもしれませんが，何回も観てみると何気ない台詞や，出演者（特に主役のスティーブン役のＢｅｎくん）の目や仕草での表現のうまさに気づきます。一番身近な人たちに，本当の自分を見せられない苦悩がよく伝わってきます。

　この映画は激しいラブシーンはないけど，私はスティーブンとジョンがそれぞれ違うパートナーとダンスしながらも，視線はしっかりと絡み合っているシーンが一番エロティックに思えました（オーバーかな？）。
　何気なく観た１本でしたが，レンタルでは飽きたらず，ついついＤＶＤを買ってしまいました。
