5.0 out of 5 stars アクション時代劇の名作！, 2003/7/14
ＪＡＣアクションが大爆発！。緒形拳さんＶＳ千葉真一さんの一騎打ちシーンは、まさにクライマックスに相応しい、手に汗握る名場面です！！。
敵・味方問わず魅力的な登場人物たち（個人的には、源三郎役の成瀬正孝さんが好きです。）が、画面せましと暴れまくり斬りまくる！！。

丹波哲郎さんや長門裕行さん、松方弘樹さんら実力派俳優も画面を引き締めてくれています。東映が相当力を入れて製作しただけの事はある。
竹千代を守って一人また一人と命を落としていく展開は、主人公たちに感情移入してゆくだけに胸に響きます。アルフィーが歌う主題歌も感動的。
時代劇はあまり見ないという方にも、ぜひご覧になって頂きたい作品です。

　封切り当時、ＴＶで放送されたメイキング番組が面白くて観に行きました。見どころの多いチャンバラ活劇です。緒形拳さんと千葉真一さんのクライマックスでの１対１のバトルは手に汗握ります。柳生十兵衛ＶＳ宮本武蔵で「魔界転生」でも対決した２人が、かつてない壮絶な殺陣を見せてくれます（この作品の前に封切られた深作監督の「必殺４」の千葉真一ＶＳ蟹江敬三の激闘を彷彿させます）。
　緒形さんは、刀の抜き方が最高にカッコよく、また、用心棒達を統率して竹千代を守り抜くリーダーを演じていて、シビれること間違いなしです。

　全編活劇でチャンバラ好きにはたまらない作品ですが、個人的にはクライマックスの大殺陣で盛り上がった後の江戸城のシーンがちょっと長すぎて、興奮が冷めてしまいました（作品上重要なシーンではあるのですが・・・）。

　東映が社運を賭けた時代劇だったはずである．興業の結果がどうであったか今は問わない．現場は本気である．熱い．夜の８時に始まって年寄りや疲れたオヤジ達に安らかな睡眠を約束する昨今のテレビ時代劇とは違う，夜８時に見たら眠れなくなること請け合いである．

　見所は沢山ある．最初からいきなり福本清三の殺陣シーン．○戸○門だったらラスト10分だ．根来同心の首領も（名前は忘れたが）悪山伏といったらこの人しかいない（子連れ狼「乳母日傘」参照）．火ダルマになって血路を開く長門裕行，柱を一刀で切り倒す悪役千葉ちゃん．アクションの無いほうが格好がいい松方弘樹，爆死する織田裕二．床下から飛び出す緒方拳．
　ストーリーが分かりにくいとか，人物の設定が甘いとか言うな．テンパった京本"家光"政樹の命令を理不尽とは思いながら命をかけて戦う男達．ひねくれ時代劇の本流を行くこの屈託がわかれば全てが分かる．高齢化問題の解決に役立つ１本である．
