スカリバイバルの立役者ともいえるスペシャルズ。私はもう何度も
このアルバムを聴きました。余分な事抜きに素直にひたすら楽しめる
事が、この作品が傑作であることを物語っています。

私は１曲目からいきなりヤラれてしまい、スカの軽快な疾走感と
このバンドのオシャレ系なセンスに完敗しました。イカス。文句なし。

スカ入門者には必携でしょうし、この作品だけ持ってても聴く価値は
十分あると思います。ただ私の好みで言うと、リマスタリングされて
チープなカッコよさが損なわれた気がします。でもソレを差し引い
ても星５個。

今言われるスカ・ミュージックの原点。
新たな音の創造意欲に満ち満ちた当時(79年)の状況は、ライナーや周辺の
レビューなどで感じていただくとして、
小難しいことを抜きに楽しませてくれる一枚であることに、今でも変りはありません。
パンク＆レゲエという生い立ちからして、全体がアップテンポなのは当然。
また何となく社会的に蔑まれた所に光を当てる、ギャングスター的な
雰囲気がまたたまらないです。
私も長く付き合ってますが、何度もこの音に戻ってきたくなります。
間延びした所はありませんから、是非通しで聴いてください。

ポリス、クラッシュ、ジャム、ブームタウン・ラッツといったところが
1979年当時の英国の代表でしょう。商業的にも作品的にも。
スペシャルズは面白音楽として聴きました。
スカビートそのものが他になく、比べようもないのですが
これが☆５つとなると、当時のアーティストは軒並み５ですね（笑）
実際そうなんですが（笑）
日本ではほとんど支持されず、英国1位の「トゥ・マッチ・トゥ・ヤング｣も怖ろしく長いワンパターンなので、最後まで聞くには辛い。
責任持って勧められないので☆は３つです。
