フォーレの合唱曲は本当に美しい。ここには12の小さな宗教曲が集められているが、フォーレの教会旋法と近代和声との見事な融合がおりなす響きは、しばし陶然とさせられる。中でも(1)の玄妙さは素晴らしい。オールディス率いるアンサンブルも絶妙だ。

5.0 out of 5 stars 知性と優美の清冽な泉, 2003/7/10
父の死に際して、名曲“レクィエム”を作曲したフォーレ。現在三大レクィエムと呼ばれているが、死の悲しみにくれるのではなく天国での幸福を願う深い祈りでは、他の２作品より遥かに上である。

そんなフォーレの人間性が伝わってくるのが、合唱の小作品。知性、優美、清冽そんな湧き水が出会って泉となり、その泉の上澄み部分だけをすくい上げたかのような美しさである。

オルガン伴奏では何か物足りない感が否めない。何故ならばオーケストラ伴奏のものを最初に聴いてしまったからだ。しかし私の意に反してこの一枚は定評がある。これを最初に聴いておくべきだったと今は後悔すらしている。
