1978年6月発表。ピーター・ガブリエルのソロ第2作。前作に続きロバート・フィリップが参加している。既にGenesisで構築してきたものではなく、自分自身の内面を見つめ全く新しいAnother Worldを完成させた記念すべき作品である。まずもって駄曲がない。ロバート・フィリップの切れるギターとガブリエルのボーカルが見事にマッチしていて、凄いアルバムに仕上がっている。第2作で既にトップ・ギア。ガブリエルの才能に降参だ。1→2→3と続くメドレーが特に秀逸。
LPで発表された時、5の『White Shadow』がいつまでもターンテーブルを回り続ける仕掛けになっていたことを知る人ももういないかもしれないなぁ（●＾o＾●）。

Ａ面５曲目の「ホワイト・シャドウ」がピーガブの最高傑作であることを私は信じて疑わない。
不思議な雰囲気のコードに、ずれていないのにずれているようなベース、
ベースに圧されつつも遠くのほうで静かに響く導入部のアコースティック・ギター。
ミステリアスで不吉な歌詞の後に来るのはロバート・フリップ大先生のエレキギターだが、
これが最初はさりげなく、しかし次第にネジが外れていき、最後には全開状態でリスナーの脳髄を破壊する。
高校時代にこの曲を聴いてコピーに挑戦したが、実はこの曲のインスト部は
連続する分数コードであり、それが未熟な私には聞き取れなかったためどうしてもコピーできず悔しい思いをした記憶がある。
