GN'Rに加入依頼などされていないマーク・フォードが加入した一枚目。前任のギタリストもそこそこ良い味を出していて、デビュー・アルバムも大成功で、何でメンバー・チェンジやねん！と思った私ですが、こいつはいい。ギターの音、リフ、ソロ、この時点では言う事なし。数多くのライブをこなしたせいか一枚目よりかなりパワーアップしています。全編捨て曲なしで、緩急も有り、一気に聴かせます。アルバムを包み込むこの異様なノリ、最高！。おそらくメンバー・チェンジが成功した数少ない例です。今思えばバンドのピークはここかも？おまけにエンジニアとしてブレンダンがおそらく彼自身のBEST3に入るであろう良い仕事しています。

現在活動休止中（解散はしてません）のブラッククロウズの２枚目のアルバム。ストレートなロックアルバムだったデビュー作に比べ曲の層が格段に分厚くなって、スローでちょっとサイケな感じの曲もあり、スライドギターが鬼カッコ良い曲もあり、聞き応えありありです。１曲目の頭から非常にかっちょよく、最後まで流れが途切れず名曲ぞろい。短期間でレコーディングされたらしいですが、そのノリ一発な感じも十分感じられるアルバム。このアルバム以降、南部色が濃くなったりもしたけど、これは濃すぎず丁度よい南部具合で、サザンロックはくどいから（失礼…）て思う人にもかっこよく聞こえるはず。

ロックの定義は人それぞれあるとは思いますが、私の考えるロックのかっちょいいところが凝縮された鬼カッコ良い名盤です。是非とも聴くいておくんなまし。

ボーカルが最高です！！リズム（特にドラム）も非常にタイト。1曲目から最後まで怒涛のロックロールのオンパレードで、捨て曲がない！！

彼らの1枚目と比べても、素人でも明らかにサウンドの違い（成長）が分かります。この後４，５枚アルバムを出しているはずですが、恐らくこれがベストでしょう。”フリー”の時のポール・ロジャーズを彷彿とさせますが、よりウェットでパワフルと思うのは私だけか？？
