WIZARDS４年振りの復活作だ。購入した動機は試聴した本作の４曲目に収録されているRiding The Twilightのカッコ良さから。デビューしたときはANGRAの弟分的存在で紹介されたが、そのANGRAよりもプログレッシブ的な展開も多用されているし、メロディーの展開もクサイ。ANGRAと比較されることが多いからかどうかは分からないが、本作は変拍子を用いたミドルテンポな曲で幕を開ける。２曲目３曲目も展開の多い曲だ。メロディーは相変わらず甘い。そして４曲目ツー・バスで押しまくるスピード・チューン。憶えやすい歌メロはライブで大合唱になりそう。５曲目はしっとりとしたバラードだ。６、７、８曲目とスピード・チューンだ。９曲目はモロにQUEENなLove And Recall日本人好みな重厚なコーラスがフューチャーされている。１０曲目はメタルをそんなに好まない人が聴いても良さそうなキャッチーな曲。日本盤にはボーナストラックが収録されており、こちらもなかなかの佳曲。全体にキーボードの装飾が豊かでメローディーがキャッチー。プログレ指向があるからといって大作指向ではなく逆にコンパクトな曲が多い。聞こえは悪いが聴きやすい一枚だ。それでもクサメタルが好きな人には名盤になるだろう。贅沢だがもう少しギターにエッジがあれば最高だ。

ブラジルのメロディックメタルバンド、ウィザーズの4th。2002作。
このバンド、実はデビューは95年と古く、ブラジルではVIPER、ANGRAに次ぐ期待のバンドだった。
3rdアルバム以降バンドは解散状態で音沙汰がなかったが、ここにきてなんと復活。
1stの頃からキーボードを効果的に使用した、プログレッシブな部分と、ANGRA的メロディアスさ
疾走感を兼ね揃えていたセンスの良いバンドであった。
今作では、1曲目こそパッとしないものの、徐々に疾走感とツボをつくメロディの曲が続いてゆき、
アルバムを聴き終えるころには「これは傑作だぁ」と彼らを改めて見直すことになる。
STRATOVARIOUS的疾走メロディに加え、このバンドにはメンバー自身も影響されたという
QUEEN的なピアノ、ヴォーカルハーモニーが感じられる。
日本盤ボーナスがまさにそれで、繊細なタッチのピアノから始まり、クイーン的な歌メロ、そして疾走曲へという流れは圧巻だ。
