　英シンフォニック・メタル・バンドの1st.アルバム。原題は『Wounded Land』。今は亡きゼロ・コーポレーションから日本盤もリリースされた。Barcode: 4988407000662。型番: XRCN-1066。発売日: 1993年10月13日。ヴォーカルは柔らかな高音のダミアン・ウィルソン。洋盤は8曲入りだったが、日本盤は[9]Interventionをボーナス・トラックとして追加収録していた。

　2001年に洋盤がリマスターされており、[9]も追加されているため、対訳・解説が欲しい場合を除き、洋盤 Special Edition の方をお勧めしておく。

　1993年の発表当時は、あまり高く評価されなかった。雑誌でも★3つ程度だったと記憶している。しかし、マラソンのBGMで長らく使われた名曲「Paradox」を含め、メロディーの平均レベルは意外に高い。ヘヴィになり過ぎた現在のロックと比べると、押し・引きのバランスが良い。大作が多いが聴いていて疲れないし、環境破壊をコンセプトにし、敢えて難解にした歌詞も良い。
