ミステリーとしても、ドラマとしてもこの作品を超える作品は2度と出ないかもしれないと思えるほどの傑作。オーソンウェルズの演技、キャロルリードの演出(観覧車のシーンはいまだに夢に出てきます)、すべてにおいて完璧といえる作品だが、なんといってもこの作品を不朽の傑作にせしめた決定的要因はあのテーマ音楽だろう。暗い落日を思わせるようなラストシーンにあの軽快な音楽が乗るから人々はこの映画を忘れられないのだ。名作とすばらしい音楽は切っても切り離せない関係にある。ゴッドファーザーしかり、大脱走しかりだ。すばらしい映像にすばらしい音楽、そして名作は人々の心に一生刻み込まれるのだ。この映画なくして映画は語れない。未見の方には絶対オススメ。既見の方もDVDで今一度ご覧になってはいかがだろうか？

淀川長治がべた褒めのこの作品、作品自体の良し悪しは他のレビューを見ていただくとして
このＤＶＤが良くない点は、作品が始まる前にある淀川長治の映画評で、
映画のクライマックスも何もかも話してしまうところだ。なので★四つ。

初めて映画を観る人が楽しめる部分をばらしてしまうので
このＤＶＤじゃなく別なＤＶＤで観てください。
このＤＶＤで観るなら、淀川長治が出てきたらチャプターリストか何かでとばして
映画を先に観てください。淀川長治のコメントは後から観れば十分でしょう。

戦後のウィーンを舞台にした最高のエンターテイメント。ウェルズとコットンの演技。カラスの音楽何をとっても最高。冬の枯れ木道のラストシーンも。
