ずっと聴いてきたパンク、ロックにちょっと飽きていた時、
何の前情報もなく購入したのがMOBYの『18』。
大地や自然みたいに壮大な世界観を思わせる懐の深いサウンドは、
クラブミュージック、ロック、HIP HOP…ひとつのジャンルでは
到底カテゴリーできない感動モノです。
映画のサントラみたいな感じで心地よく聴けます。
近日中に前作の『PLAY』も買うぞっ！　
最近いい音楽に出会っていないアナタ、MOBYおすすめです★

来日公演も成功しましたが、日本での評価・知名度ともにまだまだ低いことは残念です。

EMINEMの歌に引用されるように、テクノ＝MOBYとして有名ですが、彼はテクノ一辺倒ではなくMOBY的としかいいようのない音楽の幅広さをもっています。この作品『18』はテクノのようなノリのものよりは、メロディアスな作品が多いので、いろんな音楽を聴いてきた人にオススメです。

彼は9/11が誕生日、NYに住んでいるので、去年の出来事はこのアルバムにも影響をあたえています。
