2ndから少しずつ見せ始め、3rdでアルバムのカラーとして導入していたエレクトロニカな感触を
とびっきりのポップネスと遠心力をもって最大限に開花させたのがこの『ハイビジョン』。

従来のバンドサウンドを完全に捨てきったことにファンからは賛否両論が起こったが、
その踏み込みの潔さがなかったらここまで突き抜けたアルバムにはならなかったと思う。
歪んだギターを懐かしむ前にまずこの快作の誕生を喜ぶべき。

歌詞の面でもより記号化・無機質化が進んだものの、
それがピコピコ・キラキラの電子音と重なって不思議な温もりを生んでいる。

1stの生音バリバリのギターロックじゃないと死んじゃう人には
3rd以降の作品は敬遠されがちなようだが、
中に詰まってるポップセンスは不変であり、普遍。

スーパーカーだからこそ鳴らせた音の魔法が今もここに宿っている。

前作「Futurama」に続きエレクトロニカの流れを汲んだ作品。
特徴的なキック音から始まり、美麗なシンセ音で終わる、といった感じで「あれ？ドラムの出番どこ？」という曲が何曲も。
唯一のロックチューンである「STORYWRITER」（最近アニメの挿入歌としても使われた）も、どこかエレクトロな感覚を覚える不思議な曲。
前作のようにトラックをつなげるような演出はしていないものの、非常につながりの良さを感じる。

間違いなく日本のロックシーンの歴史に残る一枚。

ファーストの次にこれを聴いたもんで。。。びっくりしました。
楽曲の質の高さ、エレクトロニカの導入などもさることながら、歌詞が
非常に洗練されていて、ファーストを聴いた時に感じたこっぱずかしい
感じが無くなっており、いい感じです。
