７７年に突然出た正に衝撃のファーストタイム！スーパーバンドの
誰がなんといおうと最高傑作です。スプーキー・トゥースで開花した
ミック・ジョーンズの才能とあのキング・クリムゾンが合体するとは
当時ビックラこきましたが、確か早々と来日も果たしましたね。
英米混成バンドではピカ一！この後大成功をおさめるとは誰も予想
していなかった。マニア向けのバンドで居て欲しかったと思うのは
僕だけですかね？良い音楽は時代を超え、２２世紀に語り継ぐバンド。
ジャケもこのラフ・スケッチ風が雰囲気最高です。

記念すべきフォリナーのデビューアルバム。「衝撃のファーストタイム」、「冷たいお前」等のヒットを出した名盤です。

もっとも注目すべきは、ミック・ジョーンズ、イアン・マクドナルドと肩を並べてプロデュースにあたっている２人、ジョン・シンクレアとレオ・ライオンズ。ジョン・シンクレアはとてもセンスのあるキーボード奏者で、この後ユーライアヒープに参加し数々の名盤を残します。レオ・ライオンズは元テン・イヤーズ・アフターのメンバー。この後、元MSGのアンディ・ナイと一緒にKickというバンドを組みこれもまた聴き応えのある名盤を世に送り出します。
なにはともあれ、デビューアルバムのプロデューサー陣にこれだけの面子を揃えるなんて、やはり只者ではなかったという事ですね。

１９７７年発表の英米混合スーパーバンドのファーストアルバム・・・邦題は「栄光への旅立ち」（イマイチのタイトルでしたね！！）このバンドの魅力はまさに１曲目に象徴されるハードな中にプログレ色をまぶした曲調でしょう。なんと言ってもキングクリムゾン出身のイアンマクドナルドが参加してますから、当然と言えば当然ですが。元スプーキートゥースのミックジョーンズと元ブラックシープのルーグラムがうまく噛み合い成功したアルバムです。
