スウェーデンの誇る今は亡きデスラッシュの帝王、THE CROWNの五作目のフルアルバム。　

本作ではMOTORHEAD的な突進力を根底に据えた前作とは打って変わり、ブラスト・ビート等の激烈プレイを多用しつつも、叙情フレーズを全体に配した、より正統派なメロディック・デスメタル寄りの曲が多い構成になっている。本作のみでヴォーカルを務めている元AT THE GATES、現在LOCK UPなどで活躍するトーマス・リンドバーグの泣き叫ぶような声質とも相まって、この音楽性の変化は成功していると言えるだろう。これだけの叙情味を実現しながらも、このバンドならではのアグレッションが微塵も損なわれていないのが素晴らしい。

THE CROWNの最高作と言えば、この作品か、前作「Deathrace King」だろう。

今作からボーカルに、元AT THE GATESのトマスが加入。
しかし、このアルバムを出して彼はすぐ脱退してしまいました・・・。
何があったのでしょうか、そこの辺は謎なんですが。
現在は、LOCK UPやSKITSYSTEMなどでボーカルをとっています。

しかし、この作品におけるトマスのボーカルは絶品です！
AT THE GATESや彼が在籍しているバンドが好な人は、有無を言わずに必聴です！

前作のDEATHRACE KINGではロック色がどことなく漂っていましたが、
今作はもろにデス＆スラッシュ寄りです！
ドラムのテクニックも、前作より遙かに上回っているように思えます。
メロディックなリフやフレーズも随所にちりばめられていて、

メロディックデスメタル好きにも全く問題ないアルバムでしょう。

是非多くの人に聞いて貰いたいアルバムです！

スウェーデン・デス・メタル・シーンのボス的存在，ザ・クラウンの5枚目のアルバム。前作でボーカリストが脱退したため，その後釜として元アット・ザ・ゲイツのトーマス・リンドバーグを迎えて制作された。

とにかく，ここ最近発売されたメタル作品の中では明らかにトップ・ランクに位置する内容だ。同郷の先輩バンドである後期エントゥームドの影響を匂わすガレージ・ロック的な疾走力。初期メタリカの整合された構成力。そしてこのバンドの最大の特徴であるツイン・ギターは，スレイヤーのケリー・キング&ジェフ・ハンネマンのスタイルをさらに鋭角かつテクニカルしたものだ。そこに北欧きっての名ボーカリストの咆哮が乗るのだから，聴き終わるまで常に鳥肌もんだ。これら別次元の要素が見事なまでに混ざり合い新次元のメタル・ミュージックを生み出しているといっていいだろう。

砂塵を巻き上げるかのごとき，粗野なリフから一転，ブルータル・リフへと変貌を遂げ，最後はドラマティックなツイン・リードで締めるという構成が圧巻の「サタニスト」，激速ブラスト・ビートが展開に応じて徐々にスピード増す「クラウンド・イン・テラー」の張り詰めたテンションなど新時代を切り開くキラー・チューンが満載だ。既存のメタル・ミュージックに食傷気味になっているのであれば，聴くことを強くオススメする。必ず打ちのめされるはずだ。
