「シンドラーのリスト」ほど、映像と音楽が渾然一体となって深い感動を呼び起こさせる傑作は他にありません。
映画を見て泣いた人は、是非このサウンドトラックも買って聴いてください。
聴くたびに、この映画のテーマであります
「一人の命を救うものは、全人類を救うことができる」
が心の中に焼きつくことになりましょう。

　映画はご存じのスピルバーグの名作。名作の陰に名曲ありで、このCDもその一つです。ジョン・ウイリアムズは数々のスピルバーグ作品でPOPなクラシックを披露していますが、これだけの哀しみを表現できることに改めて才能を感じました。メインの曲は、パールマンのバイオリンで構成されていて、彼もユダヤ人の一人です。単に技術だけでなく、魂に訴える名演奏です。他にも、追憶というエンディングに使われるはかなくも希望の光がさる心温まる曲や、残虐シーンに流れる子どものコーラス曲やユダヤ人が希望へ向かうヘブライ語のコーラスなど、哀しみ哀愁のテイストあふれる曲が続きます。メインテーマは、一人でじっくり哀しみ浸ったり、見つめ直したりするときにぴったりですし、忘れられ井名曲になること間違いなしです。クラシックのサントラはなかなか買うところまで行かないのですが、これはお勧めです。

この作品はメインテ―マが重視されており、全14曲中の半分以上はメインテ―マが登場する。大変美しいのだが、同じ旋律ばかり出てくると、少しあきてくる。「またこのテ―マ」かと。
