レディへなんて関係ないんじゃない。だってこの人たちはずっとこう言う音楽やってて、ここまで到達したんじゃない？
1曲目から6曲目まで何度か聞いてみて！切ない音楽が心にしみるから。
このアルバムはスケールの大きいオルガンが、切なさを増幅させています。エモ好きなら必聴です。
あと、歌詞も入手できればよりよいです。メロディー通りの内容です。

これは好みの問題かもしれませんが、個人的にはややオーバープロデュース気味に感じてしまいました。1st,EP「THE GLORIA RECORD（傑作！）」や、2nd,EP「A LULL IN TRAFFIC（大傑作！）」で伺えた流麗なギターワークを、派手な装飾で抑え込んでしまったのが本当に惜しいです。これがぽっと出の新人なら新人賞クラスの出来なのかもしれませんが、なんせ“あのミネラル”をやっていた人達だけに、こちらの思い入れも、期待も、半端なく大きいのです。「それはファンのエゴだ」と言われたら、確かにその通りなのですが、よりにもよってあのギターを引っ込めてしまうとは…、悪くは無いけどもう少し良くなったのでは？と感じてしまうのです。

わたくし”こんなはずは無い、まだこの変化に慣れてないだけだ”と自らに言い聞かせ、それはもう何度も何度も繰り返し聴いたのですが、如何せん”Good, but Not Great”の域から出ないのです。これはもう、変化云々、ミネラルの幻影を追い続けてる云々という理由だけでは済まないのかもしれません…。

今思えば、この壮大化の前兆は「A LULL IN TRAFFIC」でも窺い知れましたが、あそこではまだエッセンス程度に留めており、止めど無く溢れ出てくる歌とミネラル譲りのアルペジオと相俟って、実に感動的な傑作EPでしたので、いささか期待し過ぎた部分もあるのかもしれませんが…。

でも聴いてみてください。
ヴォーカリスト・クリスの表現力には、更に、より一層の磨きが掛かってきたと思います。

歳を重ねると同時に聴いて消費してしまった数々の音源の中で、『求めていた音像はこれだった!』と思えた数少ないアルバムの一つです。ミネラル時代からのギター中心の流麗なアルペジオで構成された楽曲は此処には、ほぼ存在しませんが鍵盤群やエレクトロニクスを大胆に導入した広がりのある曲構成は素晴らしいの一言に尽きます。表現手法としてレディオヘッドと被る?かもですが個人的には聴き終えた後に残る余韻が圧倒的にグロリアレコードの方が気持ち良いです(笑)。前述の方達同様、名盤・必聴と云えると思われます。
