   バッドリー・ドローン・ボーイの背後にいる男、デーモン･ゴフが、2000年に出した『アワー・オブ・ビワイルダービースト』の余勢を駆って次作のレコーディングをする代わりに選んだのは、ニック・ホーンビィの小説『アバウト・ア・ボーイ』を原作にした映画に曲を書くことだった。美しい小曲の役目をする短いインストゥルメントの間奏で変化を与えられた歌は、原作の軽やかな雰囲気を生き生きと再現し、また（ニック・ホーンビィのストーリーがもつ何かにふさわしく）過去40年のポップ・ミュージックを構成要素としてとても品よく取り込んでいる。「サムシング・トゥ・トーク・アバウト」はブライアン・ウィルソンとポール・マッカトニーからの借用だが、模倣という感じはしない。「アバブ・ユー、ビロウ・ミー」は魅力的なワルツだ。うきうきとしてくる「ドンナ・アンド・ブリツェン」は、まさにフィル・スペクターがクリスマスしているといったところ。映画と音楽のこうした規模のすばらしい出会いというのはきわめてまれなことであり、この出会いもきっと祝福されて天空高く達するにちがいない。（Elisabeth Vincentelli, Amazon.com）

バッドリー・ドローン・ボーイ
すごい！！
私は映画を観てからＣＤを買いました！
「DONNA＆BLTZEN」が映画の中でも良かったのですが
ＣＤで聴いてもイイです。
はじめのイントロがせつない感じで、カッコイイクラシックです！
あと、ボーカルの声がイイです！！

　映画のサントラなんですけど、全曲Badly の書下ろしです。なぜかとても懐かしい感じがします。
　全編に漂うきらきらした音が「自分の少年時代はこんな風だったかなぁ」という、ちょっと嘘の記憶さえ植え付けてしまうような威力を持っています。

　9.River,Sea,Oceanと言う曲はちょっとエリオットスミスを思い起こさせる仕上がりです。（実際に今作と次回作の2ndアルバム"Have You Fed The Fish?"はエリオットスミスを手がけたことのあるプロデューサと製作しています）また、14.Minor Incident という曲はちょっとボブディランぽいです。

　上に名前を挙げた2人のシンガーソングライターとBadlyに共通するものは、曲がよい！！メロディーがよい！！ということに尽きるのですが、世界中見渡してみてもBadlyのように豊かな個性にはちょっとお目にかかれないのではないでしょうか？

映画をみてもしこのサウンドトラックが気に入った方は、よろしければ「もとネオアコの言わばヘナチョコポップ通信」というリストマニアをご覧下さい。同じような雰囲気のCDをリストアップしてあります。参考になれば幸いです。
