5.0 out of 5 stars ウィザウト・ユーといえばニルソン, 2005/4/29
優しい歌声でニルソンは大好き。しかし、ウィザウト・ユーはあのビートルズの弟バンド（悲劇のバンドと言われた）バッド･フィンガーのオリジナルだというのはなぜか知られてない。ニルソンの別のアルバムのレビューでＣＤジャーナル氏も間違って書いているくらいだ。ミディアムテンポで、悲しみを抑えるように淡々と歌われるバッドフィンガーのオリジナルは胸に迫るものがあって、私はこの曲だけはバッドフィンガーのほうが好きだ。

このＣＤについている歌詞の翻訳のレベルが高いです。
曲の細かい状況や裏の意味を汲み取って翻訳されているので驚きます。

マライヤがカバーした「without you」が有名ですが、
個人的にはオリジナルであるニルソンの方を気に入っています｡
マライヤのように声域などの技術的な面はそれほどでもないですが、
聴いていると何ともいえない切ない気分になれます｡
ニルソン自身が，
この歌を大事に歌っているのがよく分かります｡
歌詞やメロディーを完全に消化して歌い、
聴く人にストレートにメッセージが伝わってくるといった感じです｡
大事な人と一緒にいるときに，
聴いてみてください｡
