IRON MAIDEN初のフル・ライヴ・アルバム!(85年リリース)
不朽の名作『POWERSLAVE』発表後のツアーからの音源で、率直に言って『音良し!曲良し!!プレイ良し!!!』の無敵ライヴ盤です。
スピードの増した『Trooper』を筆頭に、スタジオverを遥かに凌ぐテンションで迫る勇壮なメロディ…ツイン・ギターの絡みも絶品で、スティーヴのベース、ニコのドラムと最高のアンサンブル。
強いて言えばブルースのノドがMAXではなかったらしいのですが、そんなの微塵も気になりません。ただただ圧倒。

『アイアンメイデン?俺メタル聴かないから』
喰わず嫌いの人がいたら、その人は幸運です。だって、これを初めて聴いた時の感動を、まだこれから味わえるのだから…

メタル史上最強のライブアルバムです。当時は、ビデオもDVDもなく、音でしかライブ盤を楽しむことができなかったが、このアルバムは目を閉じるとその場にいるかのような錯覚に陥らされたものです。ドニントンやリオもそれぞれ中期、現在のベストなライブですが、最も勢いのあった初期のライブはこれ！

有名なチャーチルのスピーチから始まるNWOBHM。ＢＵＲＲＮ世代には欠かすことの出来ないアルバムだ。本当に、正当に、音が攻めてくるといった感じだ。エディのギミックが無くても、十分に迫力が伝わってくる。
ライブの傑作はいくつもある。でも、こいつは5本の指から外れることはない。これを聴かずしてＨＭは語れないほどのアルバムだ。
