デビューは1993年。デビュー前から、様々なミュージシャンのサポートをしており、世に名が知れ渡った時には既に「業界人」だったらしい。作曲、編曲を含めて質の高い作品を発表し続けていることからデビューから10年経った現在でも第一線で活躍している。しかし、ミュージシャンとして卓越した才能を持っているだけで、これだけの支持を集めることはできないと思う。寧ろ、敷居が高く感じられて敬遠されるだけではないだろうか。演者が聞き手と対峙する時に、音楽的な素養は表現力を底上げするものであっても「表現するもの」自体では無い。それでは、彼女のどの様な点が、「表現者」として支持を集める事になったのだろうか。それは、「女性らしさ」と「ロック」を絶妙に融合させたことだと思う。音楽に関わらず文学、絵画といった創造的な領域で、女性が残した仕事の量は男性のそれと比べると、いろいろな時代背景もあるが圧倒的に少ないと思う（女性政治家や女性実業家の方が多いかも知れない）。所謂、ロック・ミュージックにおいても女性の活躍はやはり少なかった。また、ジョーンジェットやベリンダカーライル等の先達はいるものの、彼女達にはどこか「男まさり」なイメージから、男の土俵での表現となってしまい、自然なかたちで女性ならではの表現を行うには至らなかった様に感じる。シェリル・クロウの作品からは楽曲の素晴らしさもさることながら、女性の優しさやキュートなところ、あるいは激しさが聞き手に無理なく伝わってくる。彼女が切り開いた道を、アラニス・モリセットやアヴリル・ラビーンといった後進が裾野を広げていると思う（日本では椎名林檎や矢井田瞳）。本作に収められた「Soak Up The Sun」は彼女の表現が未だにに鮮度を失っていないことを示している。

ギターうますぎるし、曲も丁寧に歌っているし、
最高のアルバムです。気軽に口ずさみやすいメロディーが
多くて曲を覚えやすいのもいいです。

私は１から３曲目が気に入っています。
<2>は夏のドライブに最適。
今年、海辺で聴きたい曲ナンバーワンです。後半の[たたみかけ]は聴き応えがある。

ゲスト参加しているアーティストも豪華です。有名女優さんも参加。
