   1995年結成の福岡出身男女4人組ガレージパンクバンド、ナンバーガールの3rdアルバムは、ジェーンズ・アディクション、マーキュリー・レヴや、グループのシングル（「ディストラクション・ベイビー」、「URBAN GUITAR SAYONARA」）を手がけた、デイヴ・フリッドマンをプロデューサーに迎えてアメリカ録音を敢行。

ナンバーガールのラストアルバム。
1st、2ndも思い出の中に確実に残る「時代の一枚」だったけれど、
この作品の前半のテンションはそのどれよりもラディカルで素晴らしい仕上がりになっている。
2000年のシングル「urban guitar sayonara」で見せたニューウェーブ志向がより自分達のものとして消化されている。

M3、M4はともにイエスの名曲「Roundabout」を下敷きにした展開を見せるが、
もともとの楽曲のアイデアもさることながら、それの解釈・展開の仕方が脱帽もの。
今アルバムは、向井氏の世界観の写実性という意味では最も完成度が高いのではなかろうか。
そしてメンバーの演奏とプロダクションも高いテンションでそれに応えている。

十代の文化の中心が西鉄久留米駅前のブラックホールだった者としても忘れられない作品。

　これがダメなら、何が良いんだ？なアルバム
　こりゃ解散するしかないよ　グループでやるにしてもソロでやるにしても
拡がり過ぎた　前作までがナンバガなら、これは別バンドと言っても良いく
らい　でも、これで僕は音楽の大きさを知った

ナンバーガールは福岡市博多区出身のライブ・バンド。特徴：リーダーが変人で、常に周囲の人の想像を超えたセンスを発揮する。リードギターが女の子で、まるで発狂したようなものすごいフレーズを激弾きする。ベースの音はものすごく太くて激しい。ドラムは普通のセオリーを完全にぶっ壊し、異常なまでに独特なビートを叩き出す。曲はささくれた激情と生暖かい脱力感の間でブルブル震えている。……先行シングルがあまりにすごかったのであまりにも期待していたが、全く裏切られなかった。暴力的なまでに研ぎ澄まされた音像！一音一音の存在感がとにかくすごい。しかも超ファンキー 体が動く 歌詞 泣ける スタンダードなロックの形を取りながら、「洋楽」へのコンプレックスから全くもって脱却し尽くした、完璧なオリジナリティ。「日本にはこんなバンドがいるんだぜ」と外国人に胸をはれる快作である。
