今現在、既に他のスラッシュ四天王の３バンドが新たな方向へと
開拓している中で、真っ当にスラッシュメタルとしての
姿勢を貫き通しているスレイヤーだが、
そこが「帝王」と呼ばれる所以なのだろう、
ホントに敬意を表するバンドだ。
デビューから約１５年チョイも経っているのだが、
初期の大名盤「REIGN　IN　BLOOD」の頃の速さは無いものの、
円熟味を増したプレイに９０年代のHR/HM界の中心でもあった、
モダンヘヴィネス系との融合でさらに重く、
激しくパワーアップしているのだ。
現代の流れに沿って新しいものを取り入れようとも決して
ファンを裏切らないその姿は聴くものを常に
快楽の渦へと導いてくれる。
どんなジャンルを取り入れようともスレイヤーはスレイヤーなのだ。
私は、たまたまこのアルバムを推奨しているが、
他にも良いアルバムがいっぱいあるのでどれを聴いても問題無しです。
まぁ、究極の速さという美学を求めるなら
「REIGN　IN　BLOOD」しかないと思うが。
