ジョン・ウィリアムズがジョージ・ルーカスのスターウォーズシリーズのために作った一連の曲は、他の映画音楽では類をみない交響曲である。全シリーズが終了するまでには、彼のキャリアのうちで、30年を費やした集大成と未来ファンタジー映画音楽の「輪廻」を創造することになるであろう。「クローンの攻撃」もまた高いレベルを維持しているだけではなく、すばらしい音楽テーマを創造し、同時にシリーズに共通点を造り出すだろう。青年に成長したアナキン・スカイウォーカーとアミダラ・パドメの間に育まれる愛を、観客は「アクロス・ザ・スターズ、（愛のテーマ、クローンの攻撃）」で感じ取れる。そしてこのメランコリックな曲はこの若いふたりにふりかかるにちがいない悲劇をも予感させている。ウィリアムズの才能は特にアクションシーンのサウンドトラックで発揮される。特に「暗殺者ザムーコルサントでの追想劇」、「ジャンゴの逃亡」では、おなじみ、ロンドン・シンフォニー・オーケストラが、20世紀モダニズムと本来の場面の激烈さを表現している。ウィリアムズは最初の「スターウォーズ」トリオロジーで用いた「フォース」と「ジェダイ」のテーマを一体化させた。また「ドク伯爵との対峙フィナーレ」は、「帝国の逆襲」で使用された「帝国の行進」に新しい「愛のテーマ」と「ファントム・メナス」のドラマティックな「デュエル・オブ・ザ・フェイト」と複雑に組み合わされたテーマ音楽のタペストリーである。。映画の結末では、物語の中でもっとも音楽が次々と使用されなければいけない場面が続く。厳しい意見を言う人たちにとっては、あまりにあから様なサウンドトラックに気分を害するかもしれない。しかし、映画音楽の集大成が歴史を刻む日はそう遠くない。このサウンドトラックは4種類の表紙で発売されている。（ジェリー・マカリー, Amazon.com）

女性としてはこれはやっぱり“恋”の映画です。２曲目の『Across The Stars』はすばらしい！愛が深まって行くにつれ、悲劇へ向かって行くことを示唆している感じの旋律がたまりません。
『STAR WARS』のヒューマンな面を表したイメージのサントラだと思います。

映画スターウォーズは　大好きなシリーズですが　実はサウンドトラック盤を買うのは　これが初めてです。アナキンとアミダラとの禁じられた愛が　このエピソードの魅力の一つでもあったので　スターウォーズ・シリーズとしては初めて　愛のテーマを　持ってきたのでしょう。
作曲家　ジョン・ウィリアムス久しぶりの　印象に残る曲となりました。

第２話としては、順当な作り。前作のサントラにあったような
「これが新しいスターウォーズかぁ！」と感じられるような曲や、
意外なアレンジ曲が少なく、前作や旧作の純粋な延長線上にある印象。

そのうち、２枚組みの完全版サントラが発売されるだろうし、
映画が公開されるまでのツナギとしてならＯＫ。それ以降は

聞くことはないだろうなあと思います。
