5.0 out of 5 stars デビューアルバムにしてこの完成度, 2006/2/14
複雑怪奇ながらなぜか耳に残るリフと癖になるメロディ。殆ど３分程度で完結する完璧な構成の楽曲。自らの音楽性を「インテレクチュアル・スラッシュ」と称したメガデスの司令塔、デイヴ・ムステインは当時弱冠２３才。末恐ろしい才能がいきなりデビュー作で惜し気もなく全開である。
唯一音質がスカスカで激悪だったのだけが惜しかった本作だが、このリマスターではその音質も大幅に改善されている。

5.0 out of 5 stars 文字通り「ヴェールを脱いだ」サウンド。名作の仲間入りだ！, 2007/7/20
　バンド１作目のリマスター盤。
　怒り一色で塗りつぶされたアルバムは、高い音楽性とテクニックも相まって、「ＭＥＧＡＤＥＴＨ」とのジャンルをいきなり築いてしまいました。
　オリジナル盤唯一の欠点が音質。スピーカーに毛布を被せたかのようなその音に、「やっぱりＭＥＴＡＬＬＩＣＡとは格が違うのか・・・」と思ってしまったものでした。
　しかしこのリマスター盤はどうでしょう。エッジの効いた粒立ちの良いクリアー・サウンド。「毛布」がやっとはがれると、印象が全く変わってきます。ジャケットが垢抜けたことも含め、２〜４枚目に肩を並べるメジャーの風格が漂っています。
　リマスターの成功例の代表、と言えそうです。

　残念なのは、(1)オリジナルと曲順が違うこと、と、(2)tr8「THESE BOOTS」が「ピー音」だらけになっていること。聴き慣れた耳には違和感が残ります。

　
　ボーナス・トラックは「デモ・ヴァージョン」。音質はカセット・テープ並みです。個人的にはこういうの、無い方がいいなぁ。

音質が良くなっていること,フランク・シナトラのカバー曲『These Boots』が収録されているということで、改めてリマスター盤を買いました。
ちなみに、このリマスター盤のジャケットは、メンバーがリリース当時から使用したいと思っていたが適わなかった『幻のジャケット』ですので、その辺りも◎。
各パートの音がクリアになっていて、非常に聴きやすくなっています。元々速くかっこいいスラッシュメタルな曲が満載であり、MEGADETH歴代アルバムの中でも傑作と呼べる一枚ですが、このリマスター盤を聴いて改めてこのアルバムのかっこ良さを再認識しました。
ただ、フランク・シナトラのカバー曲『These Boots』が何故かP音だらけとなっており、聴きにくくなっているのが非常に残念。

また、ボーナストラックのデモバージョンは音質が悪すぎなので、個人的には必要なかったです。
