この駄菓子菓子を聞いていると、２つの声があるという事にまず気付く。
女楽殿の歌には可愛らしい幼い子供の無邪気な声と
大人のドロドロした叫び声のような声を合わせ持っている。
特に一曲目の柘榴愛は無邪気に、一方では何処か恐ろしい愛の形を唄う。

ボーカルがかなりぶっ飛んでます。猟奇的な歌詞と幼稚な声の恐ろしいギャップ。怖すぎ。上手く歌う気なんて最初から無い、音程が悪いからこそ、荒々しいカッコよさ・鬼気迫る感じ・激しい情念がここまで表現できるというある意味反則的な手法。ここまでされたら逆に気持ちいいです。スカッとします。
愛する人の脳や目玉まで食べたいと無邪気に歌う「柘榴愛」は強烈。「涅槃菩薩」は決して上手くはないが印象的なメロディー。「海月地獄」は最初バラード調に始まって途中からどんどんスピードアップして悲鳴が上がり疾走し始めるが、その速くなっていく部分がハードでめちゃくちゃカッコいい（曲構成から人間椅子の「夜叉ヶ池」を連想してしまいます）。生理痛を歌った「どす黒祭り」は荒々しい演奏にしびれます。
かなりあくの強い、聞く人を選ぶCDですが、犬神サーカス団（特に初期が好きな人）はストライクど真ん中だと思う。有機生命体が好きな人にもオススメ。それから、私はなぜか駄菓子菓子をSiouxsie & The Banshees「香港庭園」なんかと一緒に聞いたりします。

はっきり言ってこのアルバム、女樂殿の歌はお世辞にも上手とは言えません
歌い方自体も癖が強く、かーなーり人を選ぶ類のものです。

ただ、それ故に強烈なインパクトを持っているバンドには間違いありません。
特に一曲目の「柘榴愛」はすさまじいものがあり
幼い少女のような声と、本来の感情むき出しの歌唱を入れ替わり使い分けて
ずっと聴いてると中毒になってしまうかと思えるほど。

ほかに、絶叫溢れる「どす黒祭り」
7分におよぶ怒涛の展開をみせる「海月地獄」
さらに長い「母胎内世界」など
収録曲はとても、とても、"濃い"ものになっています。
お聴きの際はぜひヘッドフォンをし、ボリュームは轟音でお楽しみください。
