カイハンセンが当時やりたかったことを誰にも邪魔されずにやって作り上げたアルバムなのだと思う。私にはハロウィンとどう違うのかよくわからないが、とりあえずハロウィンよりもドラマティックでオペラ的な要素があるように思う。またところどころであるが７０年代ハードロックが好きな人には「おっ」と思わせられる部分があるのではないであろうか。楽曲については、「ウェルカム」から「ラストフォーライフ」への流れは正統的なヘヴィメタルファンにとってはたまらない展開であろうし、「サイレンス」における静から動へ劇的に盛り上げていくアレンジも実に素晴らしく何度聴いても感動的である。そして荘厳なアカペラから始まるタイトルチューンはヘヴィなリフがかっこよい。中間部の長いギターソロはにはメリハリがないように感じられあまり好きではなかったが、最近は幻想的でなかなか良いと感じられるようになった。また５曲目の「マネー」は、カイとラルフによる掛け合い的なヴォーカルが聴ける面白い曲である。ベースとユニゾンのリフがこれまた良い感じだ。このほかにもノリの良いロックンロールナンバーもあったりして適度にバラエティに富みながら、カイの良さも失われていない。まさに力作と言ってよいアルバムだろう。ジャーマンメタルファンでなくても十分に楽しめる好作品だと思う。私のように１０年以上前に購入した人も２曲増えているので買いなおしてみるのもよいだろう。

聞きおぼえのない方のはこのアルバムタイトル曲
「ヘディング・フォー・トゥモロウ 」を聞いてもらえば
どこかで聞いたおぼえがあるかも知れません。
ボクシングの鬼塚勝也氏のテーマ曲にもなっていた曲です。
「1.ウェルカム」から、まさに「ようこそ」と
言ってるような
かなりパンチのきいた決意をも感じさせる曲で幕を開け

最後までノンストップでまさに音が戦っているといった
ハードさ。
かといって、「サイレンス」のような沈黙の中の
孤独な戦いもあり。

ヘビィメタファンでなくとも
十分聞きごたえのあるアルバムです。
