一曲目から驚かされます。まるで朝の鳥のように軽やかなヴォーカル。
かと思えば、ぐっと聴かせるバラードあり。びっくり箱のような一枚！
彼女のアルバムは他にも持っているけれど、この”IN LONDON”が
私は一番好きです。
オケに負けないパワフルな（でも決して力強く聞こえるわけではない）
彼女の声に最初から最後まで圧倒されるアルバムです。

わたしも彼女のアルバムは数枚持っていますが、その中でもこれが一番好き。本当にのびのびと、力まずに歌ってると思います。同じ１９６９年の "COMO & PORQUE" や、それ以降では、もっと力強く迫力のある歌い方なんだけど。曲もアップビートなものが多いし。わたしは "IN LONDON" のほうが好き。でも、もっとエリスを聴き込んだらまた変わるのかも知れないけど。両手をぴょこっとさせて、羽ばたく前の小鳥みたいなエリスのジャケ写もすごくかわいい。
オムニバスに入ってた１９６３年の１曲（Domingo Em Copacabana, これはめちゃくちゃ爽やかなエリスでした）と、かなり堂に入った１９６９年以降のものしかもってないから、その間のエリスが聴いてみたい。

まずクオリティの高さにビックリ。たった２日間で録音したなんてホントに驚き。まずプレーヤーにセットしていきなりエリスの声だけがパーンと聞こえてきて曇り空なんか吹っ飛びそう。英国にむけてのアルバムだったから本国ブラジルで発売になったのはだいぶ後になったそう。そういうエピソードを聞くとエリスはほんとに波瀾万丈な人生だったなと。でもその中のたった２日間のテンションの高さが聴けるのはウレシイことだと思います。
