ビーチボーイズのブライアン・ウィルソンの娘姉妹である、カーニ＆ウェンディ・ウィルソンによるクリスマスアルバムです。彼女たちは元々、チャイナ・フィリップスと共にウィルソン・フィリップスという女性3人のコーラスグループであったこともあって、このアルバムのハーモニーも絶品です。曲の雰囲気が、どれもこれもクリスマスにピッタリ！ポップで聞きやすく、クリスマススタンダード曲はオリジナルの雰囲気を決して壊さない仕上がりです。個人的には、カーニーがリードをとる「Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas」がお勧め！少しジャジーなアレンジとカーニーの優しい歌声で、クリスマスの暖かい雰囲気を味わえます。

発売当時に購入しましたが、はっきりいって真夏でも聞いています。
いままで聞いたクリスマスソングの中で最高のCDです。
個人的な事情で思い入れもありますが、是非とも聞いていただきたいアルバムです。

　ウィルソン・フィリップスの解散後の1993年末、ウエンディとカーニーの姉妹がブライアン・ウィルソンのバック・アップ下にリリースしたのが本作品です。ビーチ・ボーイズやブライアン・ウィルソンもクリスマス・アルバムを出してますが、音楽的に保守的な「クリスマス・アルバム」というのはコーラス重視の人には適したフォーマットなのかもしれません。
　ざっと聴いてみると、得意なフィールドで特に冒険をせず気楽に作った安定感のあるアルバム、という印象です。オリジナルはタイトルにもなった曲のみ、他は有名なクリスマスのスタンダードで、総じて可もなく不可もなく、というところでしょうか。最後の曲はこの姉妹の初録音として有名な音源です。1976年に録音されたものです（当時二人は7,8歳ぐらいでしょう）。「お子様の遊び」程度の録音で音楽と言えるようなものではありませんが、微笑ましくてなかなかよいです（アルバムで実はこれが一番好きだったかも・・・）。ちなみにバック・コーラスはビーチ・ボーイズで、ピアノはブライアン・ウィルソンとクレジットされています。
　この後、1997年に姉妹で"The Wilsons"をリリースしていますが、これは売り上げも出来栄えも凡庸でした。以降は姉妹名義の作品はありません。なお、1994年のロブ・ワッサーマンの"Trios"に提供したカーニー＆ブライアン名義の"Fantasy Is Reality"はカーニーのキャリアの最高傑作ともいえる名曲ですので、未聴の方はぜひ一聴を。あと、カーニーは精神的ストレスによる過食のため一時は300ポンド(約140kg)まで太りましたが、最終的には1999年に胃バイパス手術を受けて「再生」し、出産を経て2006年に初のソロ・アルバム"A Mother's Gift"という子守唄集を出しています。
