HISTORYシリーズ第４弾。所属レコード会社をポニーキャニオンから東芝EMIに映して初の「HISTORY」だ。
98年・NYでの初の海外公演、99年・ベルリン・ブランデンブルグ門の前でのライヴ、2000年から2001年の「世紀越え」のカウントダウンライヴの様子などを中心に、今まで発売されていない秘蔵映像を多数収録。
1997年から2001年の間に発売されたシングルのPVも入っている。

また、VHSとは違い、DVDにはボーナストラックとして2002年2月の感謝ライヴからの曲も収録。
アルフィーファン必見の１本だ。

THE ALFEEの1997~2001の5年間の様々なコンサートの模様を
中心に彼らの魅力がたっぷり収録された一枚。
NY,ベルリンの海外2公演、初のカウントダウンコンサート、
オリコン連続34作初登場10位以内日本新記録達成記念コンサート
など、特別なイベントの多かったこの5年間。
それらの模様もふんだんに収録されている。
THE ALFEEファンはもちろんTHE ALFEEファンでない人も

必見の120分

収録曲はほとんど1フレーズだけだし、ツギハギのように1シーンを数秒見せて次から次へとめまぐるしくかわるだけで、結局何してたんだろうっていう感じですよね。ファンをＤＥＥＰに満足させたければ、毎年夏イベの写真集のような、イベントやツアーでのエピソードや本人の思い出などを3人やクルーのインタビューでをたくさん盛り込んだり、ライブのＳＥやセットのつくりをナレーションつきでドキュメンタリーにしてみればいいし、それにツアーでのメッセージやメインテーマを掘り下げてみたり、新曲やアルバムの曲の聴き所を高見沢さんにレクチャーしてもらったりするといいし、逆にＤＶＤで新しいファンを獲得したいというのであれば、ＡＬＦＥＥの名曲やイベントでの一番の名シーンのいくつかをそのとき歌った曲をフルコーラスにして映し出せばいいし、なにより、常に1つ1つのライブを全力をかけて歌い続ける彼らの”魂の５年間”の軌跡をたったの120分で凝縮させるという土台に無理があるでしょう。どうしても淡白な内容になるか、旨みをほとんどそぎ落とした骨と皮だけのものになるかしかないでしょう。おそらく1年間を120分にしてもまだ密度が濃すぎると思いますよ。またはＤＶＤ4枚セットくらいにして8時間くらいのものにするなどしないと、結局、中途半端で消化不良にしかならないですね。非常に不満がのこるし、ＤＥＥＰなアルフィーファンとしてはただ坂崎、桜井、高見沢さんたちが映像として出ていればいい程度の内容には憤りすら覚えます。今後ALFEE HISTORYでこのてのもの（5年分の内容で120分の程度の内容でやたら収録曲が多いもの）であるなら多分買わないと思います。内容も想像がつくので8000円だして買う気はしません。
