   ポップス業界には恩を仇（あだ）で返すなという法則がある。どういう意味かって？ MTVの人気番組「TRL」に出演できてうれしいのなら、金を稼がせてくれたサウンドはあまりいじらずにそのままにしておくのが一番だということだ。そんな業界だからこそ、リスナーはピンクをおおいに信頼しなければならない。フィラデルフィア育ちのこの歌姫は、粗削りだが口ずさみやすいポップR&Bのヒット曲「There You Go」や優れたリメイク「Lady Marmalade」で名を挙げたかもしれない。だが、本作では彼女がまとっていた赤紫のフードと同じく、あのサウンドは姿を消している。それに取って代わっているのが、真夜中のブルースと心のこもった歌詞を織りまぜた、さらに強烈なオルタネイティヴ・ロックだ。そのうえ、ときには日記の見出しのように、借り物の言葉ではなくて自分の言葉で思いをぶつけている（「Family Portrait」には「つらそうなママを見るのがつらい」というシンプルな名文句がある）。そして、ピンクの内にあるアラニス的な面を表に出すのを手助けしているのは、激しいロックナンバー「18 Wheeler」をプロデュースしたダラス・オースティンと、ピンクによって一発屋の地位から復活した元フォー・ノン・ブロンドのリンダ・ペリーである。叩きつけるビート（「Get the Party Started」）に素直な告白をとり混ぜ、ピンクの力強いボーカルと誠実な決意によってスリリングになった本作は、聴いておいて損はない。（Amy Linden, From Amazon.com）

言われている通りロック色が強いアルバムです。
ゲット・ザ・パーティー・スターティッドが気に入って、パンクな感じを期待して買った私は、を最初は物足りない気がしました。
しかし、詞の内容は彼女本人が書いており、並大抵の可愛さを売りにするなアイドルとは違うということが現れています。

聞けば聞くほど味が出る『するめ』のようなアルバムです。

今ではお気に入りの１枚です。

2001AMAでパフォーマンスを披露したピンク。
それしか知らないのに、店頭で見てすぐに買ってしまいました。
聴くとラジオで聞き覚えがある｢Get the party started」が
馴染みやすくて、聴きやすい一枚ですよ。

とにかくかっこいい！Get the party startedを聞きたくて購入したのですが、ほかの曲もかなりおすすめです。ノリのいい曲はもちろんですが、スローな曲も素敵です。曲幅が広いなあと感じます。聞いていて気持ちのよくなる一枚です。
