レベッカのリミックスのベストアルバムで本作以外にComplete Edition
という作品がありますが、それには3のTattoo Girlが収録されて
いなかったため、悩んだ結果本作を購入することにしました。

私はレベッカというバンドの知識はほとんどありませんでしたが、
本作を視聴しその完成度の高さに驚かされました。

1のWearham Boat Clubは1曲目を飾るのにふさわしい曲です。
AメロとBメロしかない単純な構造の曲ながら非常にセンシティブで
妖艶さを感じさせる歌詞内容で、まさにnokkoのためにあるような曲です。
一番のオススメ。

実はREBECCA~20th annniversary~の購入も検討しているのですが、
3のTattoo GirlはComplete Edition同様、未収録のようです。
オリエンタルなコードラインで進行するアコースティックな曲調で、
青空を連想させる雄大さの中で偶像としてのTattoo Girlを
表現することに成功しています。

本作は9のMoonを視聴する目的で購入したのですがやはり名曲ですね。
イントロのベースラインに薄いリバーブをかけることでウエット感が増し、
楽曲の持つ神秘さがより一層際立っています。
伝説の「センパーイ」がなくなっているのが残念でしたが‥

私はオリジナルを所有していないのでオリジナルとの違いは
言及することは出来ませんが、一つだけいえることはデビューから
20年経過しているにもかかわらず古臭さは全く感じませんでした。
リミックスの手法が非常にプラスに働いた結果だと思います。
ベスト版は数多く出ているようですが、本作を購入し非常に満足しています。

ｒｅｍｉｘ曲からなるレベッカのＢＥＳＴアルバムです。ｒｅｍｉｘ曲のＢＥＳＴアルバムなら他にもあるし、これだけの曲数でレベッカの全体像なんてわからないと思います。
ただこのアルバムには、未発表曲の8と再結成後の15が入っているという他の
ＢＥＳＴアルバムにはない特徴があります。
レベッカマニアとしては、買ってしまうアルバムです。

往年のレベッカファンには必聴だと思う。

３曲目TATOO GIRLは未発表曲。曲調はナッシング・トゥ・ルーズ前後のレベッカ調で当時のシングル候補だったというのも頷ける幻想的な世界が広がる良曲。

リミックスバージョンでは大幅に音色(ボーカルも)が立つように修正されていて、どの曲でも同じようにボーカルにエフェクトを掛け強調している。

ベースラインが沈んでいた部分にもかなりのテコ入れ入っていて、ＡＢＣと転調の度に曲の流れが止まる感じがあったけれどかなり疾走感がでるよう音が立つように直されている。ドラムラインに驚異的な直しがある曲もある。(パーカッションの音色が極めて押さえてありビート感重視している)

SUPER GIRLに関してはベースラインが原曲ではおとなしかったのが、これが同じ曲か？というほど修正がはいってボーカルも歌詞に反して沈んでいたのが耳に飛び込むほど引き立ちビート感溢れ素晴らしい生まれ変わり。こういう音が聞きたかったんで私的には大変感激だ。

ただし原曲こそ良いのであってレベッカの名曲はメロディや詩世界の良さがあってのリミックスの楽しみというのがある。

私的には曲自体が好きにはなれない１０、１１、１２曲目はリミックスがどれほど素晴らしくてもあまり好きにはなれない、これはもう私の趣味の問題だけれど。

２００２年のレベッカの装いは決まったが、５年後１０年後にはまた変わる、テクノロジーの進化とともに。これが決定版！というのもまた変わるのかもしれない。その時もまた何度でも聴き直すに違いない。それほどレベッカの曲、ボーカルは魅力的な引力がある。
