一見、主要なシングルのタイトルがすべて収録されているので、お得な一枚のようです。とはいえ、実はCBSソニー音源のみから成るミニ・ベスト盤なので、三ツ星をつけさせていただきます。

「時をかける少女」（松任谷正隆編曲）のオリジナル・ヴァージョンは、1983年にポニーキャニオンからリリース。「愛情物語」（萩田光雄編曲）のオリジナル・ヴァージョンは、1984年に東芝EMIからリリース。このCDを購入なさるほとんどの方々は、これらオリジナル・ヴァージョンが聴きたくて購入なさることと思います。でも、このCD『DREAM PRICE 1000/原田知世 時をかける少女』は、両者からの音源協力を得ず、原田知世がCBSソニー移籍後にセルフ・カヴァーした「時をかける少女」（後藤次利編曲）、「愛情物語」（たぶんこちらも後藤次利編曲）を収録しているのです。ヴァージョンが有名なものとはちがうというこの重要なことについての注記が各トラックのタイトルにもこのCDのパッケージにもないことが遺憾です。

ですから、「時をかける少女」、「愛情物語」のオリジナル・ヴァージョンがお聴きになりたい方々は、まず、ソニーが自社の音源のほかポニーキャニオン、東芝EMIから音源協力を得て制作した『2000BEST　原田知世』をまず購入なさるべきでしょう。そのうえで、オリジナルよりポップでリズミカルなアレンジになっている「時をかける少女」のセルフ・カヴァー・ヴァージョン、そしてオリジナルよりしっとりとしたスローバラードになっている「愛情物語」のセルフ・カヴァー・ヴァージョンまでをお聴きになりたいという熱心な方々だけが、この『DREAM PRICE 1000/原田知世 時をかける少女』を購入なさればいいとぼくは思います。

わたしは天国にいちばん近い島と早春物語が聴きたくて買いました。シングル感覚で買えるので好きな曲が2曲あればもうお徳感バッチリでしょう。
