アイドル全盛の1974年、心に残る唄を残した異色の女性シンガーでした。もう一度聞きたかった名曲です。四半世紀たった今でも、豊かな歌唱力と落ち着いたアルトは心に染み通ります。活躍した期間は短かったですが、同世代の私には、忘れることはできません。夢去りし時代を回顧し静かに独りで聴きたい名曲です。

麻生よう子は７４年にデビューした歌手。その年にはレコード大賞新人賞をとったものの、その後はヒット曲に恵まれなかったが、４０代半ば以上の人にとっては懐かしい歌手なのではないだろうか。今思えば素晴らしい表現力を身につけていた歌手であった。本人のキャラが地味だったことは否定できないが、そのデビューの時期がアイドル歌手全盛時だったことも不運だったと思う。
デビュー曲「逃避行」はストーリー仕立ての名曲だ。「午前零時の鐘」も良かった。
このアルバムは廉価版なのであまり文句は言えないが、それでもベスト盤というにはやはり物足りない。特に名曲「愛は手さぐり」がなぜ入っていないのか理解に苦しむ。この曲は、アップテンポの哀愁感漂うナンバーで印象的な歌詞も忘れがたい。確かＣＤ未復刻なので、今後ぜひ復活してほしい。
なお、このＣＤジャケットは、「逃避行」をイメージしたものだろうが、よく見ると、リベットで打ち付けられた超レトロ車両。恐らくは当時でも特殊な状況下で撮影したものと思われる。少し懲りすぎの感あり。

当時小学生の私でしたが、「逃避行」はなんとなく覚えています。
大人になって聞いてみると歌詞の内容が、じんわりわかります。
彼女と同じ世代でなかったことが、残念でなりません。
この中で好きなのは「片隅のふたり」です。
彼女を知るためにはこの6曲では足りません。全曲集をききたいです。
