あの「アニメタル」以降、いまだにヒーリング系だなんだと続々出ているアニメソング等のカヴァー・コンピは数知れないが、これはまた、ちょっと違う。というか、完全に一線を画すものとなっている。サウンド・プロデュースを、各種アニメ等の音楽や主題歌・挿入歌、そしてSMAP等への作編曲で知られ、そのSMAPの楽曲の-一部、オリジナル・バック・トラックも用いた-超豪華メンバーによるフュージョン・カヴァー・アルバム『Smappies』シリーズへも参加、paris matchらが在籍するaosisレーベルからソロ・アルバム『PURPLE』もリリースしている、長岡成貢氏が担当。全体に軽くグルーヴィー、かつ浮遊感あふれるサウンドで統一された、まったく独自の世界が展開されている。最初、ここにある曲名からイメージしていた音とはまるで違っていて、いい意味で裏切られた、という印象。個人的には、なんと女性ヴォーカル（Noriko Fukushima、とある。全10曲中、５曲でフィーチャー。『ビートマニア』『ポップンミュージック』等の使用楽曲でも活躍しているようだ）による「ルパン三世主題歌２」（第１TVシリーズのエンディング曲）、ボサノバ・ギターがサウダージな「無限に広がる大宇宙」（これにもNorikoさんがスキャットで参加）、オリジナル版では戸田恵子が歌手として美声を聴かせていた「コスモスに君と」のフレンチ風味のやつなどに、かなりグッときた（「FLY ME TO THE MOON」のヴォーカルは、実力派ジャズ・ヴォーカリストとして知られる大野えりが担当）。コンセプト通りの、カフェ気分でくつろぐひととき、だけでなく、疲れて帰ってきた時など、部屋で軽く流しておくのにもいいし、ドライブ・ミュージックにもいい。これは、かなりおすすめ。
