色々物議をかもした、アメリカ人ボーカリスト／マイク・ヴェセーラ加入後の第一作になります。前任者の二井原実とは違ってハイトーンの良く伸びる声で、「いかにもヘヴィメタル」という感じで気持ちの良いものになっています。

曲調も正統派ヘヴィメタル路線でありながら、リフ作りにはモダンな

アプローチが見られ、伝説と新しさがうまくブレンドされた作品になっています。「Soldier of Fortune」では高崎晃お得意の両手タッピングをフィーチャーしたソロが、「Demon Disease」では時代の流れでしょうか、スウィープピッキッグを駆使した新しい試みのソロが堪能できます。テクニカルなヘヴィメタルギターのお手本のようなアルバムです。

（ＨＡＬＦＯＲＤのギタリストも、本作を「スピードメタルの御手本」と語っています）

マイク・ヴ　セーラは、ラウドネス脱退後にイングヴェイやジョー　スタンプらと活動したところを見ると、テクニカルギターと相性の良いボーカリストのような気がします。良く伸びる声だったのですが、ライブでは今一歩だったようで、それが脱退のきっかけになったようです。

アメリカのＡｍａｚｏｎのユーザーレビュー等を見ると、「Ｔｈｕｎｄｅｒ　ｉｎ　ｔｈｅ　ｅａｓｔ」よりも高い評価を受けてるものが結構有る程で、二井原時代のラウドネスが好きな方には違和感が有るかも知れませんが、クオリティの高いアルバムであることには間違いは無いと思います。

シンガーにマイク･ヴェセラーを迎えた、第２期ラウドネスの１作目。
高崎晃が世界に見せつけ、｢Killer｣と呼ばれたギターワークが、余裕の攻撃を展開している。シンガーが変わっても、一聴してラウドネスだと分かる不思議な作品。
曲の構成とアレンジのクオリティーが極めて高く、聞き込むほどに新しい発見がある。
完成度が高く、これ以上は望めない。

このアルバムがリリースされた当時、タッカン（高崎晃）が「僕のギターテクの集大成」と言っていたのを思い出します。
初期の頃の長いギターソロはありませんが、早弾きやタッピング等が有機的につながり、しかもタッカンらしいスパークするイメージは相変わらずのテクニカルソロを聴くことが出来ます。
楽曲の方向性がどれも似ていて、「アルバムとしてはどうか？」という意見もあったようですが、とても完成度の高い洗練されたハードロックアルバムだと私は思います。
