まず1曲目が『M:I-2』に流れそうなヘヴィな曲で驚くが、2曲目からは60人ものストリングスを中心とした緊張あふれる曲となる。音楽は『遠い空の向こうで』のマーク・アイシャムで混成コーラスで悲しみを、デジタル・リズムで危機をうまく表現している。

『2001年宇宙の旅』の「ツァラトゥストラはかく語りき」や『明日に向かって撃て!』の「雨にぬれても」、『タイタニック』の「マイ・ハート・ウィル・ゴー・オン」など、よく知られた新旧の映画音楽80曲を7つのパートにわけ、ノンストップでメドレーに。80年代初めにヒットした『ショッキング・ビートルズ』などから思いついた企画だろうが、チープなシンセの音と、テンポの向かない曲も無理矢理、均一のテンポに押し込めたような違和感が気になる。BGMにはアリかもしれないが……。 (浅羽晃) --- 2002年03月号
