「大岡越前」の魅力にとらわれて久しい。その内容やディテールは勿論だが、このアルバムによって、山下毅雄の音楽が、いかに「大岡越前」に欠かせぬ重要な存在であるかを再認識させられた。聞きながら、御前や源さんをはじめたぬきに集う懐かしい顔ぶれとともに、その優れたストーリーを思い出し、感慨に浸ることのできる、まさにファン垂涎の一枚である。
