１曲目の「疾風のブレードランナー」と「王国　Kingdom Come」
そしてアルバムジャケットがこのアルバムを物語っています。
宇宙的というか星の輝きにも似たような眩しさがアルバム全体に
感じられます。これがあの『僕は狂っている』とか『どうして
生きているのかこの俺は』なんて歌っていたバンドとは思えないくらい。
特に「疾風のブレードランナー」は、絶望的な状況を描いた上で、
その中でこそ人間が抱くことの出来る希望の素晴らしさを謳った
名曲です。この一曲だけで星５つといっても過言ではありません。

当時のインタビューでは二枚組のアルバムを作っていたらしい。
それが何かの事情（もしくは気が変わった）で二枚の別のアルバムになった。
それが極東 I LOVE YOUとMona Lisa OVERDRIVEらしい。
そう考えると元々一枚のアルバムに平均12曲は収録してたのに、このアルバムは曲数が少ない事もなんとなく理解できる。
極東 I LOVE YOUにはぬくもりのあるおとなしめな曲、Mona Lisa OVERDRIVEにはデジタルで激しい曲。
二枚組だったら「SIX/NINE」を超える超大作になったかもしれない。

Mona Lisa OVERDRIVEが今井さんのアナーキーな個性が前面に出た作品だとすると、極東I LOVE YOUは櫻井さんのしっとりした歌とか彼らなりの優しさが前面に押し出された作品だと思う。
二枚の別々のアルバムになった事により、狙ったのかそうでないのか、BUCK-TICK史上ではちょっと異色なアルバムになった。
BUCK-TICKのアナーキーでひねくれた実験精神が好きな人には物足りないかも。

ただ、この作品が一番好きだというファンも多いと思う。

大好きなB-Tのアルバム。サウンド的に加速する中、チルドアウトな曲もあり、ノイズに拘ったところもあり、また内容的にも内面的な葛藤が秘められた、チャレンジ精神旺盛なアルバム。B-Tにしては控えめ、だとかB-Tらしくない、という声も当時しばしばあったが、私はこの進化し続けるB-Tがかっこいいと思う。何が進化しているか。それは今井氏の＋αのノイズ効果であったり、プロデュースする面での変化であったり、櫻井氏の切なくとも力強い歌い方であったり。今までB-Tが目指していたものがここにある、と私は信じている。「極東より愛を込めて」は誰が聴いても凄まじい曲だと思うだろうし、どの曲を取っても音楽的に凄く拘ってできたものなのだなと感じた。B-Tはどれだけサウンドが進化してもB-T独特の美しいメロディーラインは譲らないし、またそういうところの完成度が非常に高いなと素直に思えるアルバム。昔のB-Tがあったからこそできたアルバムであり、またこのアルバムがあるからこそ今のB-Tがある。聴いてみるとそれが判るはずだ。
